Ducks Fall Short in Denver
02/21/20 | Women's Lacrosse
DENVER, Colo. - Oregon and No. 10 Denver registered 14 draw controls each, but the Ducks couldn't come back from an early deficit and fell to the Pioneers, 21-7, on Friday afternoon.
Oregon (1-3) scored the first goal of the game but Denver (3-0) responded with an 8-0 run that set the tone for the rest of the match.
Freshman Hanna Hilcoff had a monstrous game, earning 10 of the 14 draw controls for the Ducks to tie the program record previously set by three Ducks, including sophomore Jamie Level. Hilcoff also earned her third hat trick of the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED: Oregon's Level scored in under two minutes to give the Ducks a 1-0 lead. Level has found the back of the net in all four games this season, racking up a total of eight goals.

Following Oregon's 3-0 run, Denver pulled away with a 7-1 run to send the Pioneers into halftime with a ten-point lead, 15-5.
In the second half, Oregon junior Claire Domshick scored her first goal of the season and Hilcoff fired another shot to register her third hat trick of the season, but the second half went Denver's way.
