06/17/21 | Men's Tennis
EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon men's tennis team has bolstered its roster with the addition of Aaron Bailey, as announced Thursday by head coach Nils Schyllander. The Las Vegas, Nev., native spent the first two years of his collegiate career at UC Irvine and has spent the past year playing in the UTR match series.
Dating back to the start of April, Bailey has an 18-9 record in UTR play with two appearances in finals including a victory at the Southern California Clay Court tournament in Newport Beach. In his most recent result, he defeated Karl Lee—the No. 2 national recruit—in three sets.
Bailey posted a 19-15 record in singles play at Irvine including a 13-win season as a freshman. He also advanced to the second round of the 2020 ITA Southwest Regional Championships. In doubles play, Bailey was 11-6 in two seasons with a 'Flight B' title at the 2020 Aztec Fall Invitational.
The Las Vegas native graduated from Faith Lutheran High School. He began his prep career at Bishop Gorman High School where he helped the team to the 2015 state title. Individually, Bailey was the state runner-up that same year.
Bailey is one of three transfer additions ahead of the 2021-22 season, joining Ivailo Keremedchiev and Avi Shugar.
