EUGENE, Ore. – Charlie Hunter will run for a spot in the Olympic final as part of the Ducks' competition schedule on day three of the track and field program in Tokyo. The day will also feature Aneta Konieczek and Jillian Weir in opening rounds of the steeplechase and hammer throw, respectively.

Hunter ran 1:45.91 in the first round of the men's 800 meters to earn an at-large spot in the semifinals. He'll run in the first of three heats. The top two from each heat plus the next to fastest will advance to the final.

Weir will be up first, competing in the first of two flights of qualifying. She carries a season best of 72.29m/237-2 into the Olympics. The top 12 competitors after the two flights will advance to Tuesday's final.

Konieczek enters the Olympics off a personal best of 9:25.98 to win the Polish Championships in late June. She'll run in heat two of three. The top three in each heat plus the next six fastest will advance to the semifinal.
