Volleyball Schedule Features 12 TV Matches

The 2022 season begins August 27-28 at the Rose City Showdown hosted by Portland State.
EUGENE, Ore. – As part of Thursday's Pac-12 release of the TV schedule, the Oregon volleyball team will play 12 matches on television—10 Pac-12 Networks and two ESPNU—during the upcoming 2022 season. The Ducks' schedule also features 14 matches against 10 NCAA Tournament teams from last year.

2022 Key Dates
August 27: Season opener vs Long Beach State – 2 p.m. (Portland, Ore.)
September 1: Home opener vs UC Davis – 6 p.m.
September 21: Pac-12 opener at Oregon State – 7 p.m.
September 25: Pac-12 home opener vs Stanford – 12 p.m.

Oregon's season begins August 27-28 at the Rose City Showdown hosted by Portland State with matches against Long Beach State in the opener and the host Vikings in the weekend finale.

The Oregon Invitational will mark the team's home opener with the Ducks welcoming UC Davis and Rice to Matthew Knight Arena. The three-day round robin will feature one match per day with Oregon taking on UC Davis on Sept. 1 and Rice on Sept. 3; UC Davis and Rice will face each other on the middle date.

This year's edition of the Pac-12/Big Ten Challenge (Sept. 9-10) takes Oregon to the Gopher State where the team will face host Minnesota and Penn State. This marks the fourth year of the Challenge matchups that also includes Stanford.

The non-conference season concludes in Coral Gables, Fla., against South Carolina (Sept. 17) and Miami (Sept. 18).

Beginning with Rice, the Ducks close out the non-conference slate with five-consecutive matches against teams that played in the 2021 NCAA Tournament.

Conference play begins Sept. 21 at Oregon State. First serve of the in-state matchup is scheduled for 7 p.m. on the Pac-12 Networks. The two teams will meet again Nov. 26 in the regular-season finale, that time on the Ducks' home floor.

The 2022 season will be the program's sixth under head coach Matt Ulmer who has led Oregon to four NCAA Tournament appearances. Last year, the Ducks were 22-9 overall with a 13-7 mark in conference play. Oregon returns two-time All-American and reigning AVCA Pacific North Player of the Year Brooke Nuneviller along with all-conference performers Karson Bacon, Georgia Murphy and Gloria Mutiri.

Along with Ulmer, the Oregon staff includes Erika Dillard in her fifth season overall and first as associate head coach and, new assistant coach—and three-time Olympian—Tayyiba Haneef-Park who joined the program in February.
