Oregon Heads East to Take on Navy

EUGENE, Ore. - The Ducks open their weekend of play on Friday with a matchup against Navy.
Oregon will look to continue strong starts on both ends of the field into March in the second all-time meeting between the two programs.

THE DUCKS vs. THE MIDSHIPMEN
Oregon and Navy will square off for the only the second time on Friday. The first meeting between the two sides took place more than 10 years ago, on May 5, 2012 when the Midshipmen defeated the Ducks, 10-9, in an NCAA play-in game that went to overtime. Navy is off to a 2-2 start this year after losing this past weekend in overtime to Villanova.
DUCKS BOUNCE BACK EMPHATICALLY
Oregon rebounded from its first loss of the season last weekend with a 15-8 win over Kennesaw State. The Ducks controlled the pace of play for much of the day on Sunday, outshooting the Owls 39-18 and pressuring Kennesaw State into 22 turnovers. Oregon was bolstered by career days from sophomore Haley Taylor (3 goals, 2 assists) and junior Mara Zajac (2 goals, 1 assist, 5 draw controls).
» The Ducks caused a season-high 13 turnovers, the most since forcing 14 against California on March 20, 2021.
» Seven different Oregon players finished with multiple points, including six multi-goal performances.
QUACK ATTACK
Through the opening month of the season, the Oregon offense has gotten off to a torrent start with . The Ducks have peppered opposing goals, finishing with 40 shots in the opener against Xavier and 39 shots against Kennesaw State, both of which would have been season highs a year ago.
» Oregon ranks in the top 10 nationally shots per game (sixth) and in fewest turnovers per game (tied sixth), averaging 36.33 shots while committing just 11 turnovers per contest.
» Sophomore Lauren Rismani currently leads the Ducks with six assists, matching her total from a season ago. Rismani is also tied for second on the team in points (7) and is tied for second in the conference in assists.
» Senior Katie Collins extended her goal scoring streak to seven consecutive games, the Ducks' second-longest active scoring streak.
» Four Oregon players scored a hat trick during February: Morgan McCarthy (three times), Haley Cummins, Haley Taylor and Riley Taylor. McCarthy has scored at least three goals in every game this season. Cummins and R. Taylor secured their first career hat tricks in the opener against Xavier, while H. Taylor netted hers against Kennesaw State.
A TAYLOR-MADE PERFORMANCE
After earning her first career start against Kennesaw State, sophomore Haley Taylor made an instant impact for the Ducks. On Tuesday, Taylor was recognized for her outing with Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week honors.
» Finished with first career hat trick and multi-assist game for a career-best five points.
» Became just the third Duck and the first since 2021 to bring home the weekly award.
» The second Duck to earn a Pac-12 weekly award this season, joining defender Logan Gierke. The teammates are the first pair of Oregon players to earn weekly conference recognition in a season since joining the Pac-12 in 2018.
