Leach, Stember Sit in Top 10 at the Goodwin

SAN FRANCISCO – Greyson Leach and Nate Stember continued their strong play at the Goodwin. Both players came in under par and were in the top 10 after the second round, played Friday at TPC Harding Park.
Those two helped the 20th-ranked Ducks shoot a 2-under 278 Friday to remain in sixth of 28 teams overall at 1-under.
No. 11 Georgia Tech led the tournament at 13-under 547, followed by No. 13 Oklahoma (548), San Diego (554), No. 7 Stanford (556), San Francisco (558), Oregon (559), USC (561) and Washington (563).
How It Happened: Leach had a strong finish Friday with birdies on three of his last five holes for a 1-under 69. For the tournament, Leach was tied for fifth at 3-under 137.
Stember had four birdies and two bogeys in his round. He birdied his last hole to card a team-best 2-under 68. Overall, Stember was tied for ninth at 2-under 138.
The Ducks also counted a 70 from Aiden Kraft, who had four birdies on his last nine, and a 71 from Owen Avrit.
