Oregon Faces Off With Stanford

EUGENE, Ore. - The Ducks wrap up a weekend road trip to California with a Sunday matchup against Stanford.
After earning its first Pac-12 victory of the season against Arizona State, Oregon has come up empty in its most recent conference clashes. The Ducks are looking to avenge an 18-8 defeat at Papé Field from earlier in the season.

THE DUCKS vs. THE CARDINAL
Oregon concludes its trip to the Bay Area with a trip to take on the Stanford. In the first matchup between the sided, the Ducks trailed by one entering the half, but a 6-0 third period by the Cardinal stalled any positive momentum. Oregon is looking for its first win over Stanford since 2012. The Cardinal currently sit in second place in the Pac-12 after an 18-13 victory over Colorado on Friday.
DUCKS' RALLY FALLS SHORT
After being down in an early 4-1 lead in the first, Oregon clawed its way back but could not get over the hump against California. The Ducks maintained constant pressure in the contest, outshooting the Golden Bears, 40-29, but were unable to consistently find the back of the net. Sophomore Lauren Rismani led the Ducks with two goals and two assists in the game.
» Morgan McCarthy extended her goal-scoring streak to 25, reaching 52 goals scored in the stretch.
» Senior Katie Collins secured a career-high seven draw controls in the defeat.
» The Ducks had five players score multiple goals against Cal.
MORGAN IN THE MIDDLE
A constant for the Ducks, McCarthy is impacting the game in every phase for Oregon this season. The midfielder became the first Duck at the position to take home All-Pac 12 honors after receiving second-team recognition in 2022.
» Leads Oregon with 35 points, 32 draw controls and 32 goals. She is tied for the UO lead with 24 ground balls.
» Currently carries a 25-game scoring streak, totaling 52 goals in the stretch.
» Became the 10th player in UO history with 50 goals and 100 draw controls in a career on March 3 against Navy.
» Sits in ninth place in program history with 120 draw controls.
» Scored three-plus goals in consecutive games for the first time in her career against UC Davis and Arizona State.
SOPHOMORE SURGE
After losing 110 goals from last year's offense, Oregon turned to a young core for an attacking boost. The Ducks have found production from a trio of sophomores who have helped facilitate the offense.
» Gabby Cleveland is second on the team with 30 goals and points (31). The Charlotte, N.C. native became the third player under head coach Chelsea Hoffmann with two five-goal games in a season, with a career-high six goals on March 19, against then No. 18 Stanford and a five-goal performance on April 1, against Colorado.
» Lauren Rismani ranks third on the team in points (30) and paces the Ducks with 20 assists, the first Oregon player in a with 20 assists in a season since Shannon Williams in 2019. The Denver native opened the season with six consecutive multi-point games and has five multi-assist games, with six three-point outings.
» Haley Taylor is second on the Ducks in assists (9) and tied for third in goals (12) for a fourth-best 20 points. Taylor became just the third Duck and first Oregon player since 2021 to bring home Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week honors after starting her first career game on Feb. 26, against Kennesaw State. The Sandy, Utah native finished with her first career hat trick and multi-assist game for five points against the Owls.
