04/05/23 | Softball
No. 18 Oregon steps out of conference to host Lindenwood of the Ohio Valley Conference Thursday (1:30 p.m.) and Friday (6 p.m.) at Jane Sanders Stadium. This will be the first meeting between the Ducks and Lions.
NUMBERS
14 - Oregon leads the Pac-12 with 14 double plays turned this season.
14 - Stevie Hansen won her 14th game of the season Monday against Montana, one more than she won as a freshman in 2022.
DUCKS IN THE POLLS
Oregon currently sits at No. 18 in the NFCA Coaches' Poll and No. 16 in the ESPN/USA Softball Poll. It is Oregon's 48th consecutive appearance in the polls, dating back to the 2020 preseason poll.
TWO CLOSERS
Both Raegan Breedlove and Morgan Scott have saved three games this season. Breedlove saved both ends of doubleheader at Oregon State on April 1, and also got the save against UC Riverside (2/17). Scott saved games at San Diego State (2/18), vs. No. 24 Missouri (2/25) and at No. 10 Washington (3/10).
BUNKER REACHES TOP 3 IN CAREER HITS AND DOUBLES
Allee Bunker has moved into the UO career top three in both hits and doubles. She passed Nikki Udria - now assistant coach Nikki Ragin - (2014-17) for third in hits and now shows 261. Courtney Ceo (2011-14) is second with 288. Bunker has also passed Janie (Takeda) Reed 2012-15) for second in career doubles wand now shows 45. Jenna Lilly (2015-18) is the school record holder with 52. She needs 8 RBI and 6 runs to become the only player in program history ranked in the UO career top 10 in hits, doubles, runs and RBI.
NONCONFERENCE SUCCESS UNDER LOMBARDI
Under head coach Melyssa Lombardi, Oregon has posted some of the best non-conference records in program history. Three years ago in 2020, before the season was halted by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ducks were 22-2 through 24 games. That was at the time, the second-best 24-game record in program history. In 2021, the Ducks did that one better, going 23-1 through 24 games. Last season, the Ducks went 19-3 prior to the opening of conference play. Overall, Oregon is 102-18 in nonconference regular season games under Lombardi.
