
Oregon, Hayward Field Awarded 2028 NCAA Championships

Beginning with the upcoming 2025 national meet, Eugene will host the next four NCAA Championships.
EUGENE, Ore. – The University of Oregon will host the 2028 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships, as announced Wednesday by the NCAA. Hayward Field will now serve as the host site for the next four years having previously been awarded the meet for 2025 through 2027.
The Ducks' upcoming 2025 NCAA Championships will be the 20th time the national meet will be held in Eugene. Oregon first hosted the NCAA meet in 1962.
"We are grateful to the NCAA for the opportunity to host the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships once again in 2028," said University of Oregon athletic director Rob Mullens. "We look forward to delivering another exceptional student-athlete experience in the world's greatest track and field venue. The Eugene-Springfield community provides tremendous support for this event, and the fans of TrackTown USA always create an electric atmosphere for elite competitors at Hayward Field. We are excited to host the Championships for the next four years and are confident these championships will continue to produce more Hayward magic."
Upcoming NCAA Championships at Hayward Field
2025: June 11-14, 2025
2026: June 10-13, 2026
2027: June 9-12, 2027
2028: TBA
Dating back to 2010 coupled with Wednesday's selection, Eugene will have hosted 14 of 18 NCAA Outdoor Championships by 2028.
"There is no better atmosphere and setting for track and field in the NCAA than Hayward Field," Oregon head coach Jerry Schumacher said. "Our fans and the city of Eugene always do such an incredible job showing up to the support the NCAA Championships and our administration and staff put in so much work to make this meet an amazing experience for all teams and student-athletes."
The 2027 and 2028 NCAA Division I Indoor Championships sites were also announced Wednesday with host duties awarded to Fayetteville, Ark., and Boston, respectively.
