Ducks Host Gauchos, Pioneers

EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon women's tennis team concludes a four-match homestand this weekend, hosting a pair of matches at the Student Tennis Center, first facing UC Santa Barbara Saturday at 12 p.m. and finishing the weekend against Denver on Sunday at 11 a.m.

The Ducks remained unbeaten at home after picking up victories over Eastern Washington (7-0) and Saint Mary's (5-2) last weekend. Junior Sophie Luescher is the reigning Pac-12 Player of the Week following an unbeaten weekend across four combined singles and doubles matches.
Luescher is one of five Ducks with a team-leading three singles wins on the young season, joined by Jo-Yee Chan, Nina Geissler, Uxia Martinez Moral and Karin Young. Luescher and Geissler are 2-0 at the top doubles spot while freshman Candela Aparisi and Young also have a pair of doubles victories at third doubles.
UO has clinched the doubles point in four of five matches this season.
UC Santa Barbara's roster is highlighted by Amelia Honer, who is ranked No. 64 in the latest ITA singles rankings. Honer is also part of UCSB's 26th-ranked doubles team, paired with Kira Reuter.
Oregon is 5-0 all-time against UC Santa Barbara after defeating the Gauchos 4-3 in Eugene last season. The Ducks lead the series with Denver 4-2, picking up a 4-2 road victory in the last meeting in 2022. Denver, the defending Summit League champion, qualified for the 2023 NCAA Tournament.
