Cook, Erickson Lead 800 Efforts at Stanford

The Oregon duo finished second and third overall Saturday afternoon.
STANFORD, Calif. – Elliott Cook and Matthew Erickson dipped below 1:48 in the 800 meters on the final day of the Stanford Invitational. The two lapper was the Ducks' only event Saturday.
Up Next: Oregon will compete next weekend at the Triton Invitational (April 5-6) in La Jolla, Calif., along with the Brutus Hamilton Invitational (April 6) in Berkeley.
Running in the top section of the 800 meters, Cook and Erickson posted times of 1:47.91 and 1:47.95 to finish second and third overall, respectively. The 1:47.91 for Cook is a new outdoor best, surpassing the 1:48.81 he ran to win the Pac-12 title in 2022.
Based on times entering the race, the Oregon duo will move into the top 10 of the NCAA this season.
Rheinhardt Harrison ran a time of 1:50.43 to finish second in section three of the 800 with teammate James Harding (1:51.36) crossing the line in fourth in his outdoor season debut.
