Seventh-year head coach Courtney Nagle brings back four letterwinners from last year's team in addition to adding six newcomers (four freshmen, two transfers). Returners include sophomore Candela Aparisi, sophomore Tilde Jagare, redshirt junior Olivia Symons and senior Karin Young.
The Ducks are coming off a strong fall campaign, in which the team posted a combined 20-9 doubles record while going 25-20 in singles over three events.
Symons was named to the Big Ten's preseason players to watch list after leading the Ducks with a 6-3 singles record during the fall season. The Australia native also posted a 6-4 doubles mark, paired with Tilde Jagare and Julia Visaya.
Six of seven athletes that played during the fall finished with a .500 singles record or better, while eight of nine doubles pairings achieved that mark. Jagare and Symons led UO with five doubles victories, going 5-3.
Three incoming freshmen joined the program for the spring season in Avery Jennings, Bridget Mihulka and Juliet Santitto. Jennings comes from Naples, Fla., while Mihulka and Santitto hail from Australia.
Oregon is 27-0 all-time against Portland State after defeating the Vikings 7-0 to open the 2024 spring season. The sides will meet for the sixth straight season, with Friday's match being the fourth straight in a season opener.
UO and Montana will meet for the first time since 2019, when the Ducks defeated the Grizzlies 4-1 in Eugene. Oregon holds a 5-0 all-time lead in the series.
