Fiso's Fireworks Help Keep Ducks Unbeaten
11/30/25 | Women's Basketball
The sophomore point guard had a career-high 24 points Sunday at Auburn, including 13 in the fourth quarter.
AUBURN, Ala. — The sophomores were superb, the defense was a difference-maker and thus Oregon enters December still having yet to lose in 2025-26.
The UO women improved to 9-0 on Sunday by wrapping up a three-game road trip with a 58-53 victory at previously unbeaten Auburn. Second-year Ducks Katie Fiso and Ehis Etute each established new career highs in scoring, the team held the Tigers to 30 percent shooting in the second half and Oregon got to head home still undefeated entering Wednesday's rivalry matchup with Oregon State at Matthew Knight Arena.
Fiso scored 24 points Sunday, including 13 in the fourth quarter as Oregon outscored Auburn 18-13 in the final period to break a 40-40 tie through three. Etute scored the other five UO points in the final period, finishing the game with 16 to best her previous career high of 15 set Thursday against Old Dominion. She also grabbed a career-high 15 rebounds.

Mia Jacobs added 10 points with nine rebounds for the Oregon women, who host the Beavers on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
How It Happened: The Ducks took their first lead of the day on Fiso's first three-pointer of the season, which made it 5-4 in the opening minutes. Sarah Rambus followed with a bucket for a 7-4 lead, before Auburn rallied with six straight. Baskets by Etute and Jacobs got back in front, and Fiso scored on the fastbreak to give Oregon a 13-12 lead after one quarter.
The Ducks were only outscored in one quarter Sunday, but it put them in a hole they spent the entire second half digging out of — a 33-24 halftime deficit. Auburn was 8-of-15 shooting in the second period, including a pair of three-pointers, while Oregon shot 4-of-15 and turned it over four times. The Tigers took the lead with a 7-0 run to go ahead 19-15, and Oregon's halftime deficit was nearly double digits if not for a three-point play by Etute in the final minute.

The UO women faced their biggest deficit early in the third, as Auburn opened the second half with five straight points to lead 38-24. Fiso ended that run with a bucket, though, and Oregon outscored the Tigers 16-2 the rest of the period to tie the game back up. The Ducks held Auburn without a point for the final 5:45 of the third quarter, and to 3-of-12 shooting with five turnovers in the period overall.
The fourth was Fiso's time to shine. The Ducks didn't score for the first three minutes of the period, falling behind 44-40. But then Fiso had six points and Etute scored four during a 10-0 run that put Oregon in the lead for good. After Auburn ended that run, Fiso hit another three-pointer for a 53-46 lead. Auburn got back within three twice, at 53-50 and 56-53, but Fiso had the answer for the Ducks both times and they held on to win.
