NOVEMBER TO REMEMBER
Oregon closed the month of November with a perfect 9-0 record after completing an extended road trip where it played on three games over five days, capping a stretch of four games in eight days in three cities. After a home victory over Utah State on Nov. 23, the Ducks hit the road the following day for the Hoopfest Women's Challenge in Frisco, Texas, over Thanksgiving week. UO kicked off the holiday tournament with a 71-53 victory over Saint Mary's before claiming a dominant 84-46 win over Old Dominion on Thanksgiving Day.
The Ducks then flew to Atlanta on Friday for a Sunday date at Auburn, overcoming a slow first half and erasing a 14-point halftime deficit to hand the Tigers their first loss of the season, 58-53. Sophomores Katie Fiso (24 points) and Ehis Etute (16) each set career highs in scoring, and along with Mia Jacobs' 10 points accounted for 50 of UO's 58 points. Etute added a career-best 15 rebounds in turning in the first double-double of her career.
» It marked the first undefeated month of November for the Ducks since going 6-0 during the 2018-19 season (not including the COVID-shortened 2020-21 season).
» The 14-point deficit marked the Ducks' largest comeback victory since trailing by 15 points in a 50-49 home win over Iowa last season on Jan. 19, 2025.
» The comeback win was the first by double digits on the road since overcoming a 16-point hole at USC on Jan. 13, 2017 (won 59-53).
» The Ducks, who trailed by nine at halftime, outscored Auburn 34-20 at halftime, got 19 points from Fiso to go with nine points and 11 rebounds from Etute in the second half.
» Since the start of last season, Oregon has gone 10-5 in "clutch games" (games that are within five points with five minutes or less to play).
» The Ducks trailed Saint Mary's at halftime , 21-19, and were tied at 46 through three quarters before outscoring the Gaels 25-7 in the fourth for an 18-point victory.
OFF AND RUNNING
Oregon is off to a 9-0 start for the first time since beginning the 2015-16 season 11-0, marking the second 9-0 start or better under 12th-year head coach Kelly Graves. The Ducks' offense has scored 80 or more in seven of their nine games, including five straight to being the season - its longest streak to begin a season since seven straight such games to open the 2019-20 season. UO's scoring offense of 80.3 points per game ranks No. 34 nationally and 10th in the Big Ten.
Six different Ducks have led or tied for the team lead in scoring, with 11 different players producing a double-digit scoring performance. Three times this season five different players finished in double figures, most recently in a Nov. 16 win over Army: Mia Jacobs (17), Sofia Bell (14), Amina Muhamad (14), Katie Fiso (12) and Sarah Rambus (12). Four of the 11 players with a double-figure scoring game came off the bench (Avary Cain, Ehis Etute, Muhammad, Astera Tuhina and Janiyah Williams).
» Oregon's offensive rating of 110.7 (points per 100 possessions) ranks eighth in the Big Ten while averaging 72.6 possessions per 40 minutes (ninth in Big Ten). UO had an offensive rating of 96.0 with an average of 70.2 possessions per 40 minutes last year.
» UO's field goal percentage of 49.6 is 15th-best in the country, with its 58.0 percent on two-point shots ranking No. 10 in the nation and fourth in the conference.
» Oregon ranks 22nd in the country with an effective field goal percentage of 54.8 percent.
» The Ducks' bench put up 56 points against Old Dominion on Nov. 27, outscoring the Monarchs' entire team in an 84-46 win on the final day of the Hoopfest Women's Challenge.
» It was the second game with 40-plus points for UO's reserves, as they accounted for 47 of 90 points against Montana on Nov. 8 and fourth outing of at least 30 points (30.3 bench points per game ranks 32nd in the nation).
» UO's 19.2 assists per game is good for 17th nationally, posting an assisted shot rate of 62.0 percent (sixth in the Big Ten).
» The Ducks' lead the Big Ten and are No. 6 in the nation in free throw shooting (83.5 percent), while their 1.30 assist-to-turnover ratio ranks 28th nationally.
STORM AND SWARM
Oregon's stifling defense, which was a chief reason for Oregon's success a season ago, is back again this season. The Ducks have forced at least 20 turnovers seven times and recorded double-digit steals in eight of nine contests to start the season. The eight games with 10 or more steals are the second-most in the country, and one behind national leader Maryland, while the seven 20-turnover games are tied for most such games nationally.
Oregon forced a season-high 32 turnovers against West Georgia behind 24 steals in the season opener, its most steals in a game since 2013. Oregon's defense recorded 12 or more steals and forced at least 23 turnovers in four consecutive games to begin the season. UO has turned in 10 or more steals in four consecutive games, its second such four-game streak after doing so in four straight games to start the season. The stretch is one shy of matching the longest streak from a season ago, while the four consecutive games forcing 20-plus turnovers marked its longest since eight straight such games during the 2010-11 season.
» Oregon created at least 22 turnovers in three straight outings, forcing 29 vs. Utah State, 26 against Saint Mary's and 22 in its last game against Old Dominion. UO has two different stretches of at least three consecutive games with 22 or more forced turnovers.
» The Ducks are one of five teams with seven games forcing a minimum of 22 turnovers, and only team in the Big Ten.
» UO recorded 18 steals and forced 29 Utah State turnovers in its 70-34 win on Nov. 23, both the second-highest totals of the season.
» The 34 points allowed to the Aggies marked UO's fewest given up since a 97-33 win over Charleston on Dec. 18, 2022 - and only the ninth time yielding 34 points or fewer since 1999.
» The Aggies went just 1-of-18 (5.6 percent) from the 3-point line, UO's lowest 3-point percentage allowed since holding Baylor without a 3-point field goal in the 2019 Final Four (0-for-3).
» The Ducks are one of 10 teams in the country with at least six games with 12 or more steals, and one off the national lead.
» Oregon is recording a steal on 17.0 percent of opponent possessions, which is the second-highest rate in the Big Ten and 10th-highest in the nation.
» Opposing teams are turning the ball over on 28.2 percent of its possessions, the third-best rate in the conference and 14th-highest in the country.
» UO's scoring defense ranks fourth in the Big Ten and 18th in the nation, allowing just 52.4 points a night and with just one team eclipsing the 60-point mark (Grand Canyon, 66).
HERE WE GO, FISO
Sophomore point guard Katie Fiso has stepped into the Ducks' lead guard spot this season, as she takes over after the departure of graduate guards Deja Kelly and Peyton Scott. Fiso, who was the Gatorade Player of the Year for the state of Washington her senior season, got her first career start in the season opener against West Georgia on Nov. 3 and turned in her first career double-double with 10 points and 10 assists without a turnover. She produced her first 20-point scoring effort while handing out 10 assists against Grand Canyon on Nov. 11 and has since recorded points-assists double-doubles against Army (12 points, 10 assists) and Saint Mary's (15 points, 10 assists). After a career-high 24 points in UO's comeback win at Auburn, she has produced three 20-point scoring efforts this season.
» Fiso's three 20-point games are tied for third-most in the league among Big Ten guards.
» Her four points-assists double-doubles this season lead the nation and are twice as many as the next closest (Caliyah DeVillasee, Cincinnati), while only three players in the country have multiple such double-doubles.
» There have been seven points-assists double-doubles in the Big Ten this season, with Fiso accounting for four of them and the only player with more than one.
» Four total double-doubles are second in the Big Ten lead and tied for 11th-most in the nation.
» Turned in the first 20-point, 10-assist double-double by a Duck since Sabrina Ionescu had 20 points and 12 assists against Stanford on March 8, 2020.
» First Duck with multiple points-assists double-doubles in a season since Ionescu during the 2019-20 campaign (17).
» One of just three Ducks since at least 1999 to have a minimum of four points-assists double-doubles in a season (Maite Cazorla, Ionescu).
» First Duck with 10-plus assists without a turnover since Minyon Moore did so at USC on Feb. 16, 2020, and first Duck since Ionescu on Feb. 1, 2020 with a point-assists double-double without committing a turnover.
» Led (or tied) UO in assists in all nine outings this season and is second in the Big Ten at 7.2 assists a night (fifth nationally).
» Her double-double against West Georgia was the first points-assists double-double by a Duck since the 2022-23 season when Te-Hina Paopao did so in the WNIT on March 3, 2023.
» During the week of Nov. 10-16 (two games), she averaged 16.0 points and 10.0 assists while going 14-of-16 from the field (87.5 percent) and was named to the Big Ten's weekly honor roll on Nov. 17.
» Fiso is the only player in the country averaging at least 7.0 assists and shooting 50.0 percent or better from the floor.
MAMA MIA
Senior F Mia Jacobs, a Fresno State transfer, has made an immediate impact for the Ducks on the young season. She ranks second on the team in scoring at 13.7 points per game while shooting 47.0 percent from the floor. Jacobs finished as the team's leading scorer in three of the first four games to begin the season, including a season-high 26 points in UO's 84-66 win over Grand Canyon on Nov. 11. It marked the highest scoring performance by a Duck since Te-Hina Paopao scored 28 points against Stanford on March 2, 2023. Additionally, she has connected on 30-of-32 free throw attempts to lead the Big Ten at 93.8 percent.
» Jacobs drilled a season-high five 3-pointers against Washington State on Nov. 19 on her way to her second 20-point outing of the season, going 4-for-5 from range in the second half of UO's 86-59 victory.
» Jacobs' 15 made 3-pointers are the third-most among Big Ten forwards (tied for No. 18 nationally among forwards).
» She went 12-of-13 from the free throw line against GCU, marking the most made free throws by a Duck since Sabrina Ionescu made 17 against Mississippi State on Dec. 18, 2018.
» Her free throw percentage of 93.8 is third-highest in the nation among players with at least 25 made free throws.
» Last season, Jacobs led the Mountain West with 19 double-doubles last season, which tied for No. 7 nationally, as she averaged 18.3 points and 10.0 rebounds while shooting 40.8 percent from the floor.
» Jacobs was named first-team all-Mountain West in 2024-25 while being named MW Player of the Week three times.
» Jacobs is also a passionate and talented photographer and can often be seen on the sidelines capturing the action at several different Oregon Athletics events.
RING THE BELL
Junior guard Sofia Bell is a phenom on the court and in the classroom. Bell earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Oregon after only two years and is already enrolled in an MBA program at UO. On the basketball court, she is a disruptor to opposing offenses and has developed into a knock-down 3-point shooter. The 6-foot Bell is the Ducks' leader in 3-pointers, steals and blocks as a guard, recording at least one steal in all nine games this season with multiples steals in seven contests. Going back to last season, she has a steal in a career-best 12 consecutive games and has registered at least one theft in 42 of her 58 career games (72.4 percent), while finishing with multiple steals 23 times. Eight of her 25 career blocks have come this season after having just three over 28 games last year.
On the offensive end, she is shooting 40.0 percent from behind the 3-point line (16-of-40) and has drained multiple 3-pointers six times. Bell is one of just seven players in the nation, and one of two players in the Big Ten, to have at least eight blocks while making at least 16 3-pointers while the only one in the group with over 2.0 steals per game.
EHIS THE BEAST
Sophomore F Ehis Etute has begun to tap into her raw potential in her second season in Eugene. The Luxembourg product set a new career high in scoring in back-to-back games last week, first turning in 15 points to go with eight rebounds against Old Dominion on Thanksgiving Day before a 16-point, 15-rebound double-double off the bench at Auburn. It marked Etute's first double-double of her career while grabbing a career high in rebounds, going 7-of-10 from the floor. She scored nine points and hauled in 11 boards in the second half to help UO overcome a 14-point second-half deficit.
An adept rebounder despite standing at 6-feet tall, Etute has led UO in rebounding in six of nine games this season and has finished as the team leader 10 times in her career. Against Washington State on Nov. 19, she hauled in 13 rebounds for her first 10-rebound effort, with eight coming on the offensive end - the most by any player in the Big Ten this season. Etute boasts a total rebounding rate of 25.5 percent, the highest rate in the country among players averaging at least 15.0 minutes per game, with her offensive rebounding rate of 27.2 percent ranking second.
UO concluded a stretch of four games in eight days across three cities while running its season-opening winning streak to nine games after a 58-53 comeback victory at Auburn on Sunday. The 9-0 start is the Ducks' best to a season since beginning the 2015-16 season 11-0.
After a one-year hiatus, Oregon and Oregon State renew their storied rivalry that dates back to when the programs began in 1974. The Ducks are 66-47 all-time against the Beavers, with the teams splitting the last 66 meetings going back to 1992-93.
