Oregon looks to continue its torrid scoring pace this week at the Littlewood Classic. The tournament is jointly hosted by Arizona State and Grand Canyon. Oregon leads the NCAA in scoring (14.6 runs per game) batting average (.464) and stolen bases (32).

OREGON'S LAST TRUE FRESHMAN CATCHER
True freshman Emma Cox made four starts at catcher during the opening weekend of play. The last true freshman to lead Oregon in starts at catcher was Janelle Lindvall in 2013. She started 37-of-57 games behind the plate for the Ducks and was named to the Pac-12 All-Freshman team. Lindvall went on to become a three-time all-Pac-12 player and was the league's Defensive Player of the Year as a senior in 2016. Lindvall is also Oregon's career leader in home runs (48) and RBI (195).
FIVE STARTERS AT .500+
Five of Oregon's starters hit .500 or better at the UNLV Desert Classic. Kai Luschar led the way at .647 (11-of-17). Ayanna Shaw was right behind her at .625 (10-of-16). Paige Sinicki hit .571 (8-of-14), while Emma Cox (9-of-18) and Katie Flannery (5-of-10) were both at .500.
COX NAMED BIG TEN FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Emma Cox was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week on Monday after helping Oregon make history at the UNLV Desert Classic. The Thornton, Colo., native hit .500 and helped Oregon score a record number of runs. The Ducks went 5-0 in Las Vegas and scored 73 runs – the most the program has ever scored over any five-game span. Cox was 9-for-18 at the plate with two doubles, two home runs and six RBI for a slugging percentage of .944. She had two home runs as part of a 4-for-4 performance Friday against Southern Utah.
