QUACK RECAP
Oregon snapped a six-game losing streak with a come-from-behind victory against Eastern Michigan, the Ducks' first road win of the 2025 campaign. The Ducks outscored the Eagles 8-2 in the second half en route to the 13-11 win. Seven Ducks scored in the victory, led by three goals from Bri Carrasquillo, while Paige Crowther made seven saves in her fifth win of the campaign.
Two days later, the Ducks fell to No. 3 Northwestern 19-10 in Evanston, Ill. Oregon fell behind early, but the Ducks battled for the full 60 minutes and outscored the Wildcats in the second half, 5-2. Kate Shields subbed in in goal to start the third quarter, making four saves in the frame before shutting out the nation's sixth-ranked offense in the fourth quarter. Carrasquillo once again led the offensive attack, netting four goals and adding an assist.
WIN THE DRAW, WIN THE DAY
When the Ducks have controlled the center circle, good things have happened. Oregon is 6-2 when tallying more draw controls than its opponent, but is winless in seven games when tallying fewer. The Ducks typically go the way Rachel Pallo goes - the junior has totaled 86 DCs this season, the second most in a single season in program history. She tied her own program record with 12 draw controls in the win over Columbia as the Ducks held a 21-4 advantage for the game.
» Oregon is 5-2 when Pallo nabs six or more DCs and 1-7 when she tallies less than six.
» The Ducks average 18.0 draw controls in wins and 10.6 in losses; Pallo is averaging 7.8 in wins and 4.3 in losses.
» Pallo sits third in program history with 177 DCs draw controls. Though she lacks the games played necessary to qualify yet, her 3.77 draw controls per game through 47 games would be the most in program history.
» Pallo ranks seventh in the Big Ten in draw controls.
» Both Anna Simmons and Kristiana Strtak tallied a career-high six draw controls against San Diego State as the Ducks held a 29-11 edge in the game.
» Bri Carrasquillo has been explosive on the draw in the last two games, tallying a season high five in each.
ONE-TWO PUNCH
The UO offensive attack is led by a pair of 30-plus goal scorers in Bri Carrasquillo (40) and Anna Simmons (33). Simmons scored 20 goals in the first four games of the season - the most in any four game stretch in program history - and tied the program record with seven goals against Stetson. Carrasquillo has scored 31 of her 40 goals since the month of March started, including a career-high six against San Diego State. Both Ducks rank in the top ten in Big Ten in scoring (Carrasquillo - T6th; Simmons - 10th). The duo has combined to score 45.6% of the Ducks' goals this season while taking 35.7% of Oregon's shots.
» Carrasquillo's 2.67 goals per game this season ranks as the fifth most in UO program history.
» Simmons was named the Big Ten Midfielder of the Week each of the first three weeks of the season and is one of only seven players in the nation with 30-plus goals, 21-plus ground balls and 15-plus caused turnovers.
» Carrasquillo scored a career-high six goals in the come-from-behind win over San Diego State.
» Simmons set career highs against Central Michigan with seven ground balls and five caused turnovers.
» Combined to score 15 of UO's 40 free position goals; Carrasquillo leads the Ducks with 12 on the season.
» The duo has combined to score 26 goals in the last six outings; all other Ducks have combined for 28 scores during that span.
CROWTHER CATCHING FIRE
Senior goalkeeper Paige Crowther has found her form as the conference schedule has progressed. Crowther has tallied 48 saves over the last five games, including a pair of 17-save outings against No. 6 Maryland and No. 16 Michigan to set and match her career high. The Springfield, Pa., has made a career-best 85 saves this season.
» Averaging 8.1 saves per game in conference play.
» Her 57 saves in conference play are the third most among Big Ten goalkeepers.
» Crowther ranks eighth in program history with a .401 career save percentage.
TALKIN' THE TROJANS
Long-time conference foes will meet for the first time as members of the Big Ten when the Ducks take on USC. Oregon has won three of the 17 all-time meetings with USC, dropping the last nine. The Trojans sport the fourth-best offense in the Big Ten this season, averaging 12.8 goals per game, and the second-best shot percentage in the conference at .435. Maddie Dora leads the offensive attack, sitting tied for second in the conference and tied for 11th nationally with 55 goals. Isabelle Vitale leads the Big Ten with 39 assists while also netting 27 goals, good for the fourth-most points in the conference (66).
