Maria Tabacuks (OH/Cannes, France) is a two-time French league U18 champion.
EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon volleyball head coach Trent Kersten continues to shape the program's roster with the addition of Maria Tabacuks, a 6-4 outside hitter from Cannes, France. Tabacuks is the latest newcomer to the UO roster, joining the five additions—Marlee Arrington, Alanah Clemente, Jillian McCarty, Holley McFadden and Sophia Meyers—announced earlier this week.
"Maria brings elite international experience and maturity that will immediately elevate the level in our gym," Kersten said. "We are thrilled to have her as part of his incoming class and to welcome her to the Duck family."

Tabacuks has spent the past three seasons playing with Volero le Cannet, one of the top clubs in the French Championship league. She is also a two-time French league U18 champion. Born in Schwerin, Germany, Tabacuks has worked her way onto the short list for potential placement with the German national team for future competition including this summer's Volleyball Nations League.
Kersten says…
"Maria is a dynamic outside hitter who plays with a combination of power and precision, and her time competing in Europe has shaped her into a well-rounded athlete. Most importantly, Maria is a driven competitor who is hungry to grow and help this program compete at the highest level."
Last week, Kersten added Lauren Page as an assistant coach and Haley Stangle as director of operations to complete the UO volleyball staff. Giovana Melo and Sarah Smevog were previously announced as the Ducks' associate head coach and assistant coach, respectively, while Jerry Quan will remain on the staff as technical coordinator.
