Lusti, Harding Win at Razorback Invitational
01/30/26 | Track and Field
The Ducks had two wins and seven top-10 program performances Friday.
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Oregon newcomer Liisa-Maria Lusti won the pentathlon in her debut Friday at the Razorback Invitational. She was joined in the UO winners circle by James Harding who led a strong effort for the Men of the Oregon over 800 meters. Collectively, the Ducks also registered seven top-10 school marks including three from Lusti.
In her first collegiate pentathlon, Lusti posted a winning score of 4,290 points and moved to second on the Ducks' all-time pentathlon list. Along the way, the UO newcomer also had top-10 program efforts in the high jump (1.75m/5-8.75) and long jump (6.43m/21-1.25). Lusti currently ranks second in the NCAA this season based on scores entering the weekend.
The Men of Oregon swept the top three and four of the top six spots in the 800 meter, led by Harding's lifetime best of 1:46.83, a time that moved him from eighth to sixth on the UO top-10 list. Harding was followed closely by teammates Elliott Cook (1:46.94) and Matthew Erickson (1:47.26) as UO went 1-2-3 in the first section.
Simeon Birnbaum and Cain Evans won their respective sections, the former doing so in 1:48.05 to move into the No. 10 spot on the Ducks' all-time list at 800 meters. Birnbaum joins Cook as the only two men in program history to hold top-10 school times in the 800, mile and 3,000 meters.
At the end of the day one of the heptathlon, Peyton Bair and Aiden Carter are 1-2, respectively, in the heptathlon with each recording lifetime bests in all four events. Bair started his day with a 6.71 timing over 60 meters, good for a top-10 heptathlon effort—tied for No. 8—in world history. Bair takes 3,581 points into the final three events while Carter has 3,279 points.
Day two of the heptathlon begins Saturday at 8:50 a.m. PT with the 60-meter hurdles.
Tyler Burns cleared 5.40m/17-8.5 in the pole vault to finish second in the competition and become the No. 7 indoor performer in program history. Based on marks entering the weekend, Burns' mark moves him into the top 20 nationally.
In another UO all-time performance, freshman Loren Webster cracked the top 10 at No. 8 with a day's best of 6.20m/20-4.25 in the third round of the long jump. She was one of four jumpers to advance to the final out of the first of two flights. Webster added three more jumps of six-plus meters in the final.
