The top 12 in each event advance to the NCAA Championships in Eugene.
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The 2026 NCAA West First Round starts Wednesday morning at John McDonnell Field in Fayetteville, Ark., and will feature day one of the men's competition. Including prelims in most events on the track, the Ducks will have seven chances across four events—10,000 meters, long jump, shot put, javelin—to advance to next months NCAA Championships in Eugene.
The Men of Oregon will also take on first-round heats of the 100 meters, 800 meters, 1500 meters and 110-meter hurdles. The Ducks have six entries in the 1500 meters. The fields of 48 in each event will be cut down to 24 for Friday's quarterfinal round.

Due to anticipated inclement weather Wednesday, the original schedule was adjusted prevent further competition delays.
Qualifying round for NCAA Championships
To mirror the format of the national meet, the NCAA East and West First Rounds will be held over four days with alternating men's and women's programs. The men will compete on days one and three and the women will compete on days two and four. The East opening round is also being held this week at the University of Kentucky.
The top 12 from each regional site then advances to the 2026 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships (June 10-13) at Hayward Field in Eugene. All-session and single-day ticket packages for the NCAA Championships are currently on sale.
