State champion in the both the long jump and triple jump hails from the same home town as Oregon legend Steve Prefontaine. Also ran sprints and was on North Bend’s relay teams.
2009-10: Outdoors - Saw an improvemet of more than a foot in triple jump and was Oregon's No. 2 in the event. Came on strong at the end of the season with a third-place finish at the Oregon Relays (47-1.75), followed by a PR of 48-5.25 in a runner-up finish at the Oregon Twilight. Indoors - Redshirt season. Season Bests: Outdoors - Triple Jump - 48-5.25/14.76m (PR), Oregon Twilight, Eugene, Ore. (5/8/10).
2008-09: Triple jump specialist competed in six indoor and outdoor meets. Best triple jump of the season was 47-3/14.40m in a third-place finish at the Oregon Twilight. Also triple jumped at the Pepsi Team Invitational, the UCLA dual and the Oregon Relays. Long jumped at the Oregon Preview and indoors at the UW Indoor Invitational. Season Bests: Outdoors - Triple Jump - 47-3/14.40m, Oregon Twilight, Eugene, Ore. (5/9/09). Indoors -Triple Jump - 46-1.25/14.05m (PR), UW Indoor Invitational, Seattle, Wash. (1/31/09).
Prep: Four-year letterman in both track and football won the state 4A long jump title in 2007 and the state 3A triple jump crown in 2006 for North Bend High School. Finished either first or second in the triple jump in his last three state meets, with second-place 4A finishes in 2008 (46-0.25) and 2007 (44-6.75) following his 3A win in 2006 (43-8.5). Jumped 21-6.75 to win the 2007 state 4A long jump crown and was fourth in 2008 with an effort of 21-9.5. Reached a personal-best 21-11.75 to win his second straight Far West League long jump title in 2008; won his first Far West crown in 2007 with a lead of 21-6.75. Was the Far West’s triple jump champion in 2008 (44-11.5) and 2006 (42-11). Career-best triple jump of 46-3.25 came at the Prefontaine Rotary Invitational in April, 2008. Was also a two-time MVP of the football team, rushing for more than 1,000 yards as a senior. High School Bests: 100 Meters - 12.02; High Jump - 6-1; Long Jump - 21-11.75; Triple Jump - 46-3.25.
