The 2009 NCAA Division II national runner-up in the javelin lists a personal-best throw of 223-2/68.02m. Another former Oregon state high school champion (javelin and triple jump) on the UO roster.
2011-12: Outdoors - Threw the javelin in five meets. Had a top mark of 200-5/61.08m at the John Knight Twilight, placing fourth. Pac-12 all-academic honorable mention.
2010-11: Outdoors - Made Oregon debut in the javelin at the Oregon Preview. Also threw at the Pepsi Team Invitational, UCLA dual and Oregon Relays.
Before Oregon: Was the 2009 NCAA Division II national runner-up in the javelin with a personal-best throw of 223-2 for Northwest Nazarene University. Won his first career All-America honors for his finish. Threw 206-0 in the javelin at the 2010 Oregon Twilight (unattached). As a freshman, won the 2008 GNAC javelin title (199-1). Was the 2007 state 2A javelin and triple jump champion for Cascade Christian High School. Took the javelin with a throw of 174-10/53.28m and the triple jump with a mark of 41-8.5/12.71m to help Cascade Christian claim the second place trophy. Was also a member of Cascade Christian's state champion basketball (2007) and football (2006) teams. Northwest Nazarene Bests: Javelin - 223-2/68.02m, 2009.
