
Lacrosse Wins Third Straight With SDSU Win, 17-7

SAN DIEGO, Calif.- The University of Oregon lacrosse team won their third straight match with a 17-7 MPSF rout of San Diego State on Sunday afternoon at Aztec Lacrosse Field in San Diego, Calif.
The Ducks (5-3, 2-0 MPSF) have now defeated Cal and SDSU to move to 2-0 in the conference. While San Diego State has dropped matches to UC Davis, St. Mary's and to Oregon.
Haley Milner netted the first goal of the match for the Ducks less than a minute into action, but SDSU's Isabelle Pickett answered back at 28:17 to knot the match up at 1-1.
Kristina Barrett and Shannon Propst then tallied back-to-back goals for the Ducks to put them ahead 3-1, but Lauren Maack had an answer for the goals, moving the score to 3-2.
Oregon went on a 5-2 run to close out the half, bringing the match to an 8-4 lock heading into intermission.
The Ducks created more separation to start the second half of play by notching eight straight goals before Maack got one of the goals back at the 9:12 mark with the match at 16-5.
Jackie Mills secured another goal at 7:12, but a free position goal by Sami Kiser and one by SDSU's Meris Walsh created the final score of 17-7.
Oregon received four goals from Milner, three from Jessie Esteban and two apiece from Nikki Puszcz and Barrett.
Puszcz also added four assists while Barrett recorded two.
Caroline Federighi (5-3) tallied the win with four saves and Sammy Slattery, who had five saves, recorded the loss.
Oregon will take an academic break and head back out on the road to North Carolina for matches with High Point on Mar. 25 at 10 a.m. and Davidson on Mar. 27 at 3 p.m.
