Ducks to Host Final Non-Conference Game on Monday

EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon women's soccer team will host the Portland Pilots on Monday for the final non-conference home game.

Oregon currently has a record of 6-1-1 and in the NCAA's first RPI list, the Ducks landed at No. 16.
Fans, wear white as you help the team pack and protect Papé Field.
The Ducks last defeated the Pilots in the program's inaugural match in 1980, 5-1.
Since the program was brought back in 1996, the Ducks have a 0-15-0 record vs. Portland.
The Ducks have gone 11 straight games with a goal, which ties for the second longest streak in program history.
The Opponent: Portland will arrive in Eugene after falling to the Oregon State Beavers 2-1 on Friday. Their record is currently 4-2-2.
The Beavers got the first points on the board first in the 44th minute (Natalie Higgins) and then again in the 47th minute (Toni Malone). In the 50th minute, the Pilots responded as Hanna Griffiths Boston found service from Jess Kennedy to avoid a shutout.
Both Portland and OSU had nine shots with the Pilots having two on frame and the Beavers had four.
In the previous weekend's Nike Portland Invitational, the Pilots defeated Southern Utah 6-0 and St. John's 2-1.
The flurry of Pilots' goals against SU began in the fourth minute, as Kimberly Hazlett scored off an assist by Natalie Muth.
Jess Kennedy scored in the 27th minute with an assist by Griffiths Boston.
The third goal of the first half was provided by a Griffiths Boston – Muth tag team in the 30th minute.
In the second half, Maddie Dieker found service from Ellie Boon in the 69th minute to lift the Pilots, 4-0.
Not even a minute later, Boon found the back of the net again, thanks to an assist by Hanna Armendariz.
The sixth and final goal of the night was scored in the 86th minute by Lauren Marin off double assists from Brianna Miyama and Rachel Khaw.
The Pilots notched 15 shots (nine on goal) and had three corner kicks throughout the match.
In Sunday's 2-1 victory over St. John's, Mikhalia Martinov scored off an assist from Samie Scaffidi.
With one minute left in the first half, Devlyn Jeter would even things up after finding a pass from Allison Wetherington.
Wetherington then scored the game-winning goal, as her corner kick in the 64th minute made it straight into the net.
Last Time Out: Last weekend, Oregon traveled to Fullerton, Calif. for matched against UC Irvine and Cal State Fullerton.
UC Irvine handed the Ducks their first loss of the season with a final score of 3-2.
Unassisted, freshman Jayne Lydiatt scored her third goal of the season in the 23rd minute.
UC Irvine matched Oregon in the 39th minute, as Noel Baham scored off double assists by Kiana Palacios and Grayson Galbraith.
Sophomore Kyra Fawcett scored her third goal of the season in the 52nd minute, to lift the Ducks 2-1.
Just two minutes later, UC Irvine earned a free kick and scored off a header by Palacios, assisted by Andrea Mensen.
With both teams locked at 2-2, the Anteaters solidified their win, as Sammie James scored her first goal of the season off assists from Noel Banham and Palacios.
In Sunday's match vs. Cal State Fullerton, sophomore Bayley Bruner scored her first goal of the season off double assists by redshirt junior Shaylee Miner and sophomore Sofia Chambers. This was Miner's first time seeing action this season – making quite the impression with being credited with an assist. The stat was a first for Chambers as well.
On the night, Oregon had 11 shots (one on goal) to Cal State Fullerton's seven attempts (one on goal).
Junior Halla Hinriksdottir made one save in goal and with the win, she's had six career goalkeeper wins, which qualifies for the sixth most all-time in program history.
Looking Ahead: The Ducks will open Pac-12 conference play on Sept. 24, as they travel to face Stanford on the road. The team will return back to Eugene on Sept. 29 to host USC.
