BOULDER, Colo. — No. 16 Colorado scored a pair of first-half goals on penalty kicks and went on to defeat Oregon 4-1 Saturday at Prentup Field.
How It Happened: Colorado's Taylor Kornieck capitalized on two penalty kicks in the first half and Marty Puketapo recorded a goal to give the Buffaloes (12-0-3, 4-0-2) a 3-0 lead at the half.
Oregon (7-6-1, 1-5-0) picked up momentum in the second half and found the net in the 60th minute off of a corner kick. Sofia Chambers took the kick and sent an entry pass to Jazmin Jackmon who lofted a ball into the box to find Chardonnay Curran's head.
Colorado's Libby Geraghty recorded her first goal of the season in the 70th minute.
Who Stood Out: Halla Hinriksdottir tied her career high record with a total of seven saves. Nicole Seaman led the Ducks with four shots.
What It Means: After playing one of the only three undefeated teams in the nation, Oregon will regroup to take on No. 10 UCLA on Thursday.
