Game Notes: Ducks Square Off Against a Pair of Top-10 Programs

Oregon wraps up the road portion of the schedule Thursday at No. 9 UCLA (6 p.m., Pac-12 Network) and Sunday at No. 2 USC (1 p.m., Pac-12 Live Stream).
KEY STORYLINES
• The 2018 season marks the 25th season in program history (1980-81; 1996-2018).
• The matches in Los Angeles will be Oregon's fourth and fifth straight against 2017 NCAA Tournament teams.
• The Ducks are No. 36 in this week's NCAA RPI, after reaching an all-time high for the program of No. 14 on Sept. 24.
• The matches in Los Angeles will be Oregon's fith and sixth contests against ranked opponents. Six matches versus top-25 opponents will be the most for the Ducks since the 2011 season, when they also faced six ranked squads.
• Seniors Marissa Everett and Kyra Fawcett are climbing the UO career lists in goals, GWG, points, assists and shots. Senior goalkeeper Halla Hinriksdottir ranks in UO's career top five in wins, shutouts and saves.
• UO alum Marlo Sweatman is currently playing for Jamaica in the 2018 CONCACAF Gold Cup. The Jamaicans face Panama on Wednesday in the consolation final. The winner gets a bid to the 2019 World Cup.
SCOUTING UCLA/USC
The Bruins (9-3-1) defeated Washington 2-0 last weekend, while USC, the 2017 national runners-up, topped Washington State 3-2. USC leads the Pac-12 in goals-against-average (0.49) and shutouts (9). USC's Leah Pruitt is tied for the conference lead with four game-winning goals.
TOP 40 RPI
Despite their recent struggles, Oregon has a solid RPI of 36 this week, after attaining a program-high of No. 14 on Sept. 24.
NCAA TOURNAMENT TALK
Oregon is 2-4 versus teams that qualified for the 2017 NCAA Tournament. So far this season, the Ducks have defeated Stony Brook (2-1) and Clemson (1-0) and have lost to Washington State (2-1), Stanford (1-0, ot), California (2-1) and Colorado (4-1). Oregon has three more 2017 NCAA Tournament teams on the schedule: UCLA, USC and Arizona.
EVERETT, FAWCETT MOVE UP OFFENSIVE CAREER LISTS
Seniors Marissa Everett and Kyra Fawcett have made their way into a number of UO offensive career top-10 lists. Everett is third in game-winning goals (9), sixth in goals (16), fifth in points (42, 16 goals, 10 assists), eighth in assists (10) and sixth in shots (134). Fawcett is seventh in game-winning goals (5), ninth in goals (12) and 10th in points (27, 12 goals, 3 assists).
HINRIKSDOTTIR CLIMBING GOALKEEPER CAREER LISTS
Senior Halla Hinriksdottir is currently ranked third in UO career wins (22) and shutouts (14). She is just three wins shy of the UO career record. She is also fifth in saves (183).
PAC-12 LEADERS
Goalkeeper Halla Hinriksdottir is third in the Pac-12 with five shutouts. She also ranks ninth in the conference in goals against average (1.06).
IRON ALYSSA
Alyssa Hinojosa has played in every minute so far this season (1289). In the last two years, the junior from Sylmar, Calif., has missed a grand total of 32 minutes of game action.
BAYLEY BREAKS THROUGH
Bayley Bruner is emerging as a third scoring option for the Ducks. She has a pair of goals this season - including one last week versus California - and five in her career.
SWEATMAN, JAMAICA CURRENTLY IN CONCACAF GOLD CUP
UO alum Marlo Sweatman and Team Jamaica will play Panama in the 2018 CONCACAF Gold Cup consolation final on Wednesday. The winner of that match earns a bid to the 2019 World Cup. In pool play, Jamaica lost to top-seeded Canada (2-0), but rebounded to defeat Costa Rica 1-0 and Cuba 9-0 (including a goal by Sweatman) to advance to Sunday's semfinal versus the United States. The Americans won that match 6-0 to send Jamaica into the consolation match. If Jamaica loses on Wednesday, it will be sent to a playoff against Argentina for the final World Cup bid from the Americas. Sweatman and Jamaica advanced to the CONCACAF Gold Cup by defeating Antigua and Barbuda (9-0), Bermuda (4-0), Trinidad & Tobago (4-1) and Cuba (6-1) in late August to win the Caribbean qualifying final stage. Sweatman scored two goals in the Reggae Girlz' victory over Antigua and Barbuda.
