Game Notes: Ducks Head to No. 17 Colorado, Utah
10/01/19 | Women's Soccer
Oregon opens October at No. 17 Colorado (Thursday, 2:30 p.m.) and Utah (Sunday, Noon). Both matches will be available on Pac-12 Live Stream. After the trip to the mountains, the Ducks will play five of their last eight matches at home.
• Oregon's 20 goals through nine games is one off the program record to open a season. The 2001 team scored 21 goals in its first nine games.
• Of Oregon's 20 goals, nine have been scored by sophomores and seven have been scored by freshmen.
• Eight different Ducks have scored so far in 2019. That's two more than the number of Ducks who scored goals all of last season.
• Head coach Kat Mertz earned her 100th career coaching victory Sept. 22 against Buffalo (2-1).
• Sakura Yoshida has recorded an assist in four consecutive games. That's one shy of the program record of five, set by Sierra Marsh in 1997. Yoshida has six assists on the season, which is tied for third on the UO single-season list.
• Sophomore Jordan Wormdahl has six goals already this season. Earlier this year, she became just the third player in program history score a goal in four consecutive matches.
• Half of Oregon's 2019 matches have gone to overtime this season (1-0-3).

THE SPREAD OFFENSE
Through nine games, 15 different Ducks have recorded at least one point (a goal or an assist). Eight different Oregon players have scored, while 11 Ducks already have an assist this season.
SAKI SETTING THEM UP
Freshman forward Sakura "Saki" Yoshida has recorded an assist in four straight games, and leads the team with six on the season. That total ranks second in the Pac-12. She assisted both Jordan Wormdahl and Ally Cook against Furman (Sept. 8), Cook's score against Portland (Sept. 13), Zoe Hasenauer's goal against Buffalo (Sept. 22) and got the second assist on a corner kick at Washington (Sept. 27) that saw Emma Eddy head the ball home. She's just the second player in program history to record an assist in four straight games. Sierra Marsh recorded an assist in five straight games during the 1997 season.
WORMDAHL JOINS CLUB OF THREE
Sophomore forward Jordan Wormdahl scored a goal in each of the Ducks' first four games (and has six on the season). She became just the third player in program history to score a goal in four straight matches. The other two are all-Pac-10 first team selection Jen Stoltenberg, who scored in five straight contests during the 2010 season, and UO Hall of Famer Michele Potestio, who scored in four straight in 1980.
HASENAUSER HELPERS
Sophomore midfielder Zoe Hasneauer led the team in assists in 2018 (five) and picked up where she left off with four so far in 2019. The Simi Valley, Calif., native jumped to 10th on the UO career assists list with nine. Hasenauer also netted her first goal as a Duck, finishing her own deflected shot against Portland State. She attempted 10 shots versus the Vikings, one shy of the school record of 11 set by Beth Bowler in a 2001 game versus the Vikings. She followed that by scoring the game-winner at Furman in the 86th minute. He third score of the year tied the Sept. 22 match with Buffalo, a game the Ducks won in extra time.
IRON ALYSSA
Senior Alyssa Hinojosa has played in 2,754 consecutive minutes dating back to the second-to-last game of the 2017 season. That streak includes every minute of 2019 (878) and 2018 (1764). In the last three years, the defender from Sylmar, Calif., has missed a grand total of 32 minutes of game action.
EDDY FINDS THE NET
Emma Eddy, who was second on the squad in goals a year ago with six, has found the net twice in the last two games. She scored the golden goal in the 98th minute to lift Oregon to a 2-1 win over Buffalo on Sept. 22. She found the net again on Sept. 27 at Washington, heading in a centering pass from Alyssa Hinojosa.
