Ducks Can't Hold On in Boulder

No. 25 Colorado defeated the Oregon lacrosse team, 15-6, at Kittredge Field on Saturday afternoon.
BOULDER, Colo. – With four Ducks scoring and only one save for the Buffaloes, it still wasn't enough for the Oregon lacrosse team to take down No. 25 Colorado as they fell, 15-6, at Kittredge Field on Saturday afternoon.
How It Happened: The Buffaloes opened with two goals, before senior midfielder Julia Taylor brought the Ducks into the game by scoring at the 25:24-minute mark of the first half. Colorado extended its lead to 4-1 midway through the first period. Senior attacker Shannon Williams lessened the gap by assisting sophomore midfielder Claire Domshick for a goal and registering another goal herself to bring the score to 4-3 with 9:47 left in the first. Colorado closed out the first period on a 5-0 run to secure a 9-3 advantage headed into halftime.
Junior attacker Lindsey White was the first to score in the second half at the 29:05-minute mark, bringing the score to 9-4. Williams and White each scored once more in the second period, while the Buffaloes tallied six goals to close out the game with a final score of 15-6.
Notables: Williams led the Ducks with three points off two goals and one assist… Williams has scored at least three points in all 10 games this season…White scored a career-high two goals… Freshman goalkeeper Rachel Hall registered 14 saves, while Colorado only had one save during the game… Senior Madeline Reece led the Ducks defensively with five grounds ball, two draw controls and two caused turnovers.
