
Ducks Ready to Fly in Chicago

One month shy of the NCAA Indoor Championships, the Ducks are in Chicago this weekend for the Windy City Invitational.
EUGENE, Ore. – One month shy of the NCAA Indoor Championships, the Oregon track and field team is in Chicago this weekend for the Windy City Invitational. The two-day meet begins Friday at 10 a.m. (PT) with the women's high jump. Running events are scheduled to start at 1:40 p.m.

As part of the collegiate-heavy field, the Ducks will face competition from by Arizona, Howard, Indiana, Michigan, Michigan State, Purdue, South Florida, Tulsa, Wake Forest and host Wisconsin.

Oregon secured two school records, three wins and 10 top-10 program performances at the Razorback Invitational (Jan. 28-29) in Fayetteville, Ark. Micah Williams (6.48), tying his own UO record, and Kemba Nelson (7.16) swept the 60-meter titles while Alysah Hickey broke Jenna Prandini's school record in the women's long jump. Hickey got out to a program best of 6.66m/21-10.25 on her final jump of the day.

As part of Friday's schedule, recently turned #ProDucks Cole Hocker and Cooper Teare will headline the invitational sectional of the men's mile with eyes on the 3:49.89 American record set by Bernard Legat in 2005. Teare owns a lifetime best of 3:50.39 from last year's collegiate-record outing in Arkansas with Hocker right behind him in 3:50.55 in the same race. The Ducks are scheduled to close out their regular season at the Pac-12 Invitational (Feb. 25-26) at the Dempsey Center in Seattle. At season's end, the top 16 declared individuals and 12 relays will advance to the 2022 NCAA Indoor Championships (March 11-12) in Birmingham, Ala.
