
Oregon Twilight Caps Regular Season

As part of Friday's meet, the 2022 senior class will be recognized at 6:15 p.m.
EUGENE, Ore. – With one meet between them and the postseason, the Ducks are home Friday to host the Oregon Twilight at Hayward Field. The regular-season finale begins at 2:30 p.m. (PT) with the men's discus; running events start at 5:30 p.m. As is tradition at the Oregon Twilight, the 2022 senior class will be recognition in a ceremony beginning at 6:15 p.m.

Friday's schedule also features in-meet ceremonies to recognize the recent UO Athletics Hall of Fame inductees and the Hayward Field officials. Additionally, the Oregon Twilight will include a kid's half-lap run with The Duck and a middle school mile.
Along with the Ducks, the Twilight field will feature entries from BYU, Gonzaga, Oregon State, Portland, Texas and Utah. Friday's meet is scheduled to include participants from more than 20 schools.

Holding Steady
The UO men and women remain among the top-10 teams in the country with this week's USTFCCCA ratings index. The men check in at No. 7 while the women hold steady at No. 9, pushing their run as a top-10 team to six-consecutive weeks. Collectively, the Ducks carry 27 top-25 national marks—10 men, 17 women—into the Oregon Twilight.
Through the first six weeks of the 2022 outdoor campaign, the Ducks own 12 marks ranked among the top 10 in the NCAA. Among that list, UO distance standouts Reed Brown (800m) and Aneta Konieczek (1500m) are scheduled to compete Friday.
Last Time Out
Last weekend, between the OSU High Performance in Corvallis and Desert Heat Classic in Tucson, Ariz., the Ducks registered 12 wins and six top-10 program performances. Among the five top-25 nationally ranked efforts, the UO women led the way with a top-five time in the country from their 4x100-meter relay team (42.93) of Jadyn Mays, Kemba Nelson, Jasmin Reed and Jasmine Montgomery.

Postseason Approaching
Including Friday's Oregon Twilight, the Ducks have two more opportunities to add or improve regional qualifiers. The top-48 declared individuals—24 for relays—will move on to the NCAA West Preliminary (May 25-28) in Fayetteville, Ark. The qualifying window continues through the Pac-12 Championships.
The top 12 from each regional advances to the 2022 NCAA Championships (June 8-11) at Hayward Field in Eugene. The top-24 declared multis will also earn a spot at the national meet.

The list of entries for this year's Oregon Twilight is set to feature several past UO standouts: Cole Hocker (800m), Spenser Schmidt (200m), Damarcus Simpson (100m, long jump), Cooper Teare (1500m), Jillian Weir (hammer), James West (1500m) and Matt Wisner (800m).
