Cook helped the Men of Oregon to a third-place finish and school record in the DMR while Nielsen ran her way to an NCAA title in the mile.
Ayyildiz is the school-record holder in the mile and 3,000 meters, and will be looking for her first UO top-10 entry at 5,000 meters. Carmela Cardama Baez set the school record of 15:25.41 at the BU Opener in 2019.
Cherotich and El Arfaoui—a transfer from Eastern Kentucky—are set to make their indoor debuts for the Ducks.
Laadjel enters the weekend as the No. 6 performer in program history at 5,000 meters with a 13:34.35 from the BU Valentine Invitational last February. He carries a lifetime best of 13:29.79 from last year's Opener where he competed unattached.
The USATF Cross Country Championships will also be contested Saturday at the Glendoveer Golf Course in Portland. Freshman Juan Gonzalez will compete in the U20 men's 8K at 2:50 p.m. Cooper Teare is also entered in the men's 10K which will go off at 12:55 p.m.
