Ducks Earn Point with Draw at USC
09/18/26 | Women's Soccer
LOS ANGELES – Oregon earned a valuable point on the road by playing to a 1-1 draw with USC Friday night at Rawlinson Stadium.
Carly Cormack scored in the 22nd minute for the Ducks on a ball she knocked between the goalkeeper's legs.
The Trojans tied the match five minutes after halftime and neither side found the net in the final 40 minutes.
With the draw, the Ducks (6-1-2, 1-1-1) snapped the Trojans' 13-match winning streak in the series.
Oregon also continued the best defensive effort to start a season in program history. The Ducks' three goals allowed though nine games is one better than the 1981 squad that yielded four in the first nine matches of the season.
"Our backline played very well," said coach Tracy Joyner. "They were tough and organized. I thought they did an excellent job."

How It Happened: Cormack gave Oregon a 1-0 lead when she fired the ball through the goalkeeper's legs in the 24th minute.
Off a throw-in at midfield, Maddie Sharrer passed a short ball up the middle to Cloe Chase, who tapped a perfectly weighted pass to Cormack at the top of the box. Cormack slipped past a USC defender and then sild the ball between the legs of USC keeper Josie Biehl for her fourth goal of the season.
Maya McDermott's shot from long range in the 50th minute leveled the match for USC (1-5-3, 0-2-1).
Both teams had opportunities to go ahead in the final 40 minutes.
The Ducks attempted three of their seven shots in the final 12 minutes of the game, one each from Logan Russo, Shiloh Baird and Ellie Felt.
Notable: Oregon's record of 6-1-2 is the program's best since opening 5-0-4 in 2021. … Cormack tied Felt for the team lead in goals with four. … Chase's assist was her first of the season and second of her career. … It was Sharrer's second assist of 2026. … The Ducks earned a point at USC for the first time since a 2-1 win in 2011.
Quotable:
Head coach Tracy Joyner
"We battled hard against a talented team. We generated some quality chances and I'm proud of our performance."
Up Next: Oregon will visit Northwestern on Thursday and Illinois on Sept. 27.
