2017-18: Outdoor - Earned his fifth career all-American honor by taking sixth place in the 1,500 meters with a time of 3:45.73 at the NCAA Outdoor Championships ... Advanced to the NCAA Championships in the 1,500 meters after finishing second with a time of 3:42.77 at the NCAA West Preliminary Round ... Pac-12 1,500 meter champion ... Captured first career conference title at the Pac-12 Championships, winning the 1,500 meters in 3:40.20 ... Also finished third in the Pac-12 in the 800 meters (1:50.59) to score a total of 16 points for the UO men ...Took first place in the 800 meters with a time of 1:49.57 at the Oregon Twilight ... Helped two relay teams achieve greatness, including the first place 4xMile team (16:21.81) and the first place distance medley relay team (9:32.61) at the Penn Relays, also named the Men's College Athlete of the Meet for his outstanding performance... 2015-16: A U.S. Olympic Trials qualifier at 1,500 meters and the NCAA Elite 90 award winner for indoor track and field. Also an NCAA scorer at both 1,500 meters and the mile. Outdoor - Great season running exclusively at 1,500 meters ... won that distance at the Payton Jordan Invitational (3:40.84) ... Was third in the 1,500 at the Pac-12 Championships in a season-best 3:40.11 ... Point-scorer for the Ducks at the NCAA Championships with a fifth-place finish in the 1,500 (3:40.84) ... Advanced to the semifinals in the 1,500 at the U.S. Olympic Trials ... Named a first team academic all-American ... Pac-12 all-academic first team. Indoor - Was the NCAA Elite 90 award winner for having the highest grade point average (3.97) among all competitors at the NCAA Championships ... 2014-15: Outdoor - Redshirt season. Indoor - redshirt season ... Raced in the mile in two early season meets before being sidelined for the year. Cross Country – Ran ninth in 24:43 at the 8,000 meter Bill Dellinger Invitational, his first cross country race as a Duck...good effort with a sixth-place finish at the Battle in Beantown (24:34, 8,000 meters) as part of Oregon's 1-2-5-6 finish...also ran at the Pre-Nationals Invitational...made Pac-12 Championships debut...placed second at the USATF Oregon State XC Championships in 25:47.0 (8,000 meters)...named to the Pac-12 all-academic first team.
2013-14: Outdoor – Qualified for the Pac-12 and NCAA Championships in the 1,500 meters…finished the 800 in fourth at the Aztec Invitational (1:51.14)…followed up with another fourth place finish at the Pepsi Dual (3:49.30) in the 1,500…came in fifth at the Oregon Relays with a then-personal best mark of 3:44.67 (1,500)…was a member of the first place 4xMile team that ran the sixth fastest time in NCAA history (16:09.67) at the Penn Relays…clocked in at 3:45.29 in the 1,500 at the Pac-12 Championships, finishing in seventh…had a great weekend at the NCAA West Preliminary meet to advance to the NCAA Championships…in the NCAA West meet, opened with a 3:43.69 1,500 to advance to the quarterfinals…earned the 12th and final spot to the NCAA Championships by running 3:42.30 in the quarters…after easing through the semis at the NCAA Championships (3:46.06), ran a personal best 3:41.04 in the final, coming in 10th. Indoor – Finished in the top 10 in all five races during the indoor season…came in 10th at the UW Preview in the 1,000 meters (2:30.32)…also came in 10th at the Rod McCravy Memorial Invitational in the 800 (1:51.11) while taking third in the distance medley relay (9:41.42)…took sixth in the mile at the MPSF Championships (4:05.80). Cross Country – Redshirt season…ran in his first collegiate race unattached at the Dellinger Invitational with a mark of 25:27 and placed 47th in the 8,000 meter. Season Bests: Outdoors – 800 Meters – 1:51.14 (PR), Aztec Invitational, San Diego, Calif. (3/28/13); 1,500 Meters – 3:41.04, NCAA Championships, Eugene, Ore. (6/14/14). Indoors – 800 Meters – 1:51.11, Rod McCravy Memorial Invitational, Lexington, Ky. (1/25/14).
Prep: Won the bronze medal in the 1,500 meters at the 2013 U.S. Junior Championships (3:46.93). A two-time Ohio Division III state champion in cross country (2011-12) for Versailles High School. Won the 800 (1:52.32) and 1,600 (4:14.00) meters at the as a senior at the 2013 Ohio state meet, where he also scored on the 4x400 meter and 4x800 meter relay. Set a prep best in the 1,600 of 4:09.92 in winning the Midwest Meet of Champions. Captured the 1,600 meters (4:10.33) and the 3,200 meters (9:16.14) at the 2012 state track championships. Went on to finish fourth in the mile at the 2012 New Balance Outdoor Nationals in 4:11.82. Was named a 2012 Wendy’s High School Heisman winner, as well as the Ohio Gatorade Runner of the Year. Was also a Footlocker Nationals qualifier in 2012. High School Bests: 800 Meters - 1:52.32, 2013; 1,500 Meters - 3:46.93, 2013; 1,600 Meters - 4:09.92, 2013; 3,200 Meters - 9:16.14, 2012.
