Student Athlete of the Week - April 7 - April 13

Cathryn Bristow has been named the GoDucks.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of April 7 - April 13.
Bristow and the rest of the women's golf team will take this week off before heading to the Pacific-10 Conference Championships, hosted by USC at Palos Verdes Golf Club, Monday-Wednesday, April 21-23.

Enters spring 2007 slate ranked second among Ducks based on career scoring average (76.6). In 2007 fall season, ranked second among Ducks on Golfweek national rankings (111th, 74.00 rating). Overall in career, has paced team nine times, and has ranked second for UO in 10 contests. Opened career in fall of 2005 with win in her first collegiate tourney, and added another win to cap the 2006 spring regular season. Ranked top three for team in all nine of her freshman season appearances, and led squad in four events, and ranked second in three more stops. In her sophomore season, led team in four events and ranked second in four other invitationals, and in fall of junior season, led UO again once and stood second in three others.
Fall 2007: Ranked second on team in scoring average (74.9), and in her 15 rounds of play, had two rounds under par, and four more at one-over. Led team in the last four rounds of the fall in the Stanford Intercollegiate (69) and USF Invitational (75-72-72) and also paced team once each in the Giustina Memorial Classic and Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational. Capped fall with runner-up finish to lead the Ducks in the USF Invitational (75-72-72-219), and also placed top 10 overall in the Edean Ihlanfeldt (eighth-tie, 77-73-71-221), and top 25 in the Giustina Memorial Classic (16th, 73-80-76-229) and Heather Fall Memorial (24th-tie, 77-71-77-225). Stood second on team in four events' final standings and third on squad in season opener. Among individual rounds, posted three of the team's six low rounds (2-under 69, 1-under 71 (2x)) and five of its 10 lowest (1-over 72 (2x)).
2006-07: Registered highest career Pac-10 finish (27th, 239). Led UO in prior three events, the Pinehurst Challenge (33rd, 159), Duck Invitational (10th, 233) and Indiana Invitational (fourth, 148). Also paced team in Dick McGuire Invitational (32nd-tie, 227) and Salbasgeon Invitational (33rd-tie, 229) in the fall. Added two other top-20 finishes to close the fall season in the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational (17th-tie, 228) and Stanford Intercollegiate (13th-tie, 216). Overall, led UO in 10 of 26 rounds of play during year, including six of the last nine of the spring. Tied her collegiate career low round (70) in the Indiana Invitational finale, and had two more par efforts in the final rounds of the fall finale, the Stanford Intercollegiate. In fall, posted a team-low 75.9 average and led team in three of the 12 rounds.
2005-06:
Led team in average (75.4), rounds of par (2) or under (1), and was the
low Duck scorer in nine of the 25 rounds she played. Topped the team in
average in the fall (74.8), spring (76.0) and overall (75.4). Ended
season ranked 117th nationally (77.4) in GolfWeek standings
at end of spring, and was just shy of that in the fall (94th, 74.8) -
tops on the team in both rankings. Paced team in four tournaments,
including her collegiate debut, the Oregon State Invitational which
featured a one-hole win after rounds of 70, 74 and 73 on the Trysting
Tree Golf Course. Also stood tops on team in the spring in three of the
final four tournaments ? including another win in the Illini Spring
Classic (146), and top-15 efforts in the Duck Invitational (ninth-tie,
228) and ASU Ping Invitational (14th, 221). Also stood second on team in two other stops ? the Pac-10 Championships (40th-tie, 239) and the Stanford Pepsi Intercollegiate (28th-tie, 221).
