2003-04: Terrific all-around high school athlete will continue in his role as a walk-on. Hard-nosed player always gives 100 percent.
2002-03: Contributor through hard work on the scout team. Saw action in 11 games. Scored only two points of the season on a pair of free throws Dec. 28 vs. UC Riverside. Also had a steal and a rebound in that game. Career-high four minutes Nov. 24 vs. Grambling State. Played two minutes in March 1 home finale vs. UCLA.
BEFORE OREGON: Won 11 letters in four different sports at Grants Pass High School. Averaged 15.1 points per game as a senior to lead the Cavemen to a 20-4 record and a surprising fourth-place finish at the state tournament. Named to the all-tournament first team, the all-state third team and the all-conference first team. A four-year basketball letterman for coach Bill Cowell. Also won three letters in football and baseball and one in golf. Was a first team all-conference selection on the grid iron as a senior.
PERSONAL: Born Tyler Cameron York August 3, 1983, in Ashland, Ore. Parents are Steve and Julie York. One younger sister. Father was his high school golf coach. High School (Coach): Grants Pass (Bill Cowell). Major is mathematics.
