Has competed for Ducks primarily in outdoor track and field in the 800 meters. Was a former 3A Oregon state champion in the 400 meters and 4x400m relay as a prep senior in 2004, and also lettered in cross country for Marist High School in Eugene.
2005-06: Improved season best in every 800 race over course of outdoor campaign, and was within .75 seconds of his preseason personal best (1:53.21) in the regular season finale, the Oregon Twilight (sixth, 1:53.96). Altogether, competed in four 800 meters races outdoors. Did not race indoors or in cross country. Season Best: 800 ? 1:53.96, Oregon Twilight, Eugene (5/5/06).
2004-05: Switched to middle distance group on even of outdoor slate, and impressed coaches with his positive and quick transition to an entirely new training and racing format. Altogether, ran four 800 races in span of five weeks in his first season adapting to the 800. Made half-mile debut with solid effort in Pepsi Team Invitational (sixth, 1:54.20), and took another second off that time as season wore on. Did not compete indoors in cross country. Personal / Season Best: 800 ? Outdoors - 1:53.21, Cardinal Invitational, Stanford (5/1/05).
Prep: As a senior in 2004, captured the Oregon 3A state 400-meter title in a personal best (49.12a). Also anchored high school 4x400 relay team to the state crown (school record 3:24.16), and competed in the long jump (11th, 19-10 1/2). As a junior in 2003, led Marist to state placings in the 4x100 (third, 43.82) and 4x400 (fourth, 3:26.84), and competed in the triple jump (11th, 40-6 1/4). Also owned prep bests of 20-6 and 43-2 in the long jump and triple jump, respectively. Team captain as senior. Overall, was a three-sport letterwinner in cross country, track and at wing in basketball. High School (Coach): Marist ?04.
