Sara Plutko is in her first season as student assistant with the Oregon soccer program. She played three seasons for the Ducks prior to taking on the new role with the coaching staff. Plutko saw action at defender in 24 career games, receiving Second Team Pac-10 All-Academic recognition in 2008.
Plutko came to Oregon from St. Lucy's Priory in California where she led her prep team to a Sierra League Championship in 2006. Plutko was named the league's defensive player of the year in 2005. She helped her club team, West Coast FC, to the 2006 state, regional and national club championships.
A native of Upland, Calif., Plutko is majoring in business administration.
