Oregon Lacrosse Dominates Marist, 17-6

LAKE OSWEGO, Ore.- The University of Oregon (4-3) had no problem taking care of Marist College (1-7) on Friday as the Ducks pounded the Red Foxes, 17-6, at Lake Oswego High School in Lake Oswego, Ore.
UO jumped out to a 1-0 lead off a Jana Drummond goal from Kristina Barrett, but Jamie Romano answered back from to tie the match up at 1-1 with only five minutes elapsed.
From there the Ducks rattled off 11 straight goals to take a 12-1 into the intermission.
The Red Foxes started off the second half with Ashley Miller tallying Marist's second goal of the match at the 27:59 mark, but the Ducks added to their offensive production with strikes by K. Barrett, Shelby Barrett and Olivia Pyne.
The goal by Pyne was the first of her career.
Marist attempted to climb back into the match after the Ducks lifted Caroline Federighi for Salliebeth Finnegan to start the second stanza and scored back-to-back goals, bringing the match to 15-4, but goals by Jessie Esteban and Sami Kiser sealed the deal for Oregon.
K. Barrett and Hayley Milner notched three goals each to lead UO and Esteban, Ja. Drummond, Nikki Puszcz, Jess Drummond all added two apiece.
K. Barrett, Kate Cathell, Shannon Propst recorded two assists each in the rout.
In 30 minutes of action, Federighi (4-3) recorded six saves and only allowed one goal to earn the victory. Ashley Casiano (1-7) took the loss.
Oregon returns to action on Sunday at 1 p.m. against San Diego State in San Diego, Calif.
