Ducks Draw with Cougars After Double Overtime

PULLMAN, Wash. - The Oregon women's soccer tied with the Washington State Cougars 1-1 after double overtime at the Lower Soccer Stadium in Pullman.
The Ducks are now at 26 goals on the season, the most since 2010 (29).
With the tie, the Ducks' record moves to 8-9-2 on the season and 2-7-1 in Pac-12 play. Washington State is 7-9-2 overall and 2-7-1 in the Pac-12.
How it Happened: Sophomore Bayley Bruner put the Ducks on the board in the 19th minute of play, after playing a ball from sophomore Marissa Everett. The goal was Bruner's third of the season. Bruner, redshirt senior Maryn Beutler and Jayne Lydiatt are all at three goals on the season. Everett leads the team with five assists.
The Cougars tied things up in the 73rd minute, as Amy Neal scored her first goal of the season off service from Kaitlyn Johnson.
With the score locked 1-1 as regulation came to a close, the game moved into overtime.
The Ducks took one shot that was saved by the Cougars' keeper and earned one corner kick. Without a result, the game extended into a second overtime. Oregon had one shot, while WSU fired six. Junior goalkeeper Halla Hinriksdottir was called upon to make three saves.
As the extra ten minutes expired with no result on either side, the match ended in a draw.
Throughout the match, the Cougars had 25 shots (eight on goal) and the Ducks had seven (four on goal). Oregon had five corner kick opportunities, while WSU had four.
Everett led the Ducks with four shots. Bruner added two and junior Abby Morrow contributed one.
In goal, Hinriksdottir made seven saves. Her record moves to 3-6-1.
What it Means: The Ducks are now 8-9-2 overall and 2-7-1 in Pac-12 play.

Looking Ahead: The Ducks will play the final home game of the season on Friday, Nov. 4 against Oregon State. In the Civil War match-up, the Ducks and Beavers have an all-time series record of 9-7-4, UO.
