Sunday marked Rogers' fourth national final at the senior level and her second top-three finish in as many years. She was the USA runner-up in 2018. With the latest result, Rogers secured her first berth into the IAAF World Championships.
Allen battled through the elements and found the line in a blanket finish to earn the bronze medal. He crossed in 13.38, just .02 behind second place and .01 ahead of fourth. It was Allen's second close call of the day having snatched the final qualifying spot in heat one of the semifinal. He entered the final as the sixth-overall qualifier.
