Game Notes: Ducks Riding Four-Match Unbeaten Streak

Oregon brings a four-match unbeaten streak into its game with in-state rival Portland on Friday (7 p.m., Pac-12 Networks).
• Oregon's 15 goals through six games is the most the Ducks have scored to open a season since 1997, when the Ducks' also tallied 15 goals in their first six games.
• Six different Ducks have scored so far in 2019. That equals the number of Ducks who scored goals all of last season.
• Of Oregon's 15 goals, eight have been scored by sophomores and six have been scored by freshmen.
• Sophomore Jordan Wormdahl has six goals already this season, having scored in five of Oregon's six matches. Earlier this year, she became just the third player in program history score a goal in four consecutive matches.
• 2018 assists leader Zoe Hasenauer picked up where she left off, with four assists and two goals so far in 2019.
• Oregon's next win will give head coach Kat Mertz her 100th career coaching victory.
• In defeating Portland State (4-2) and Villanova (4-0) earlier this year, the Ducks posted back-to-back games of 4-plus goals for the first time in 19 years. Oregon defeated San Jose State, 5-3, and Idaho, 4-1, during the 2000 season.
• Oregon welcomed the highest-ranked recruiting class in program history to campus this fall, and all 10 freshmen have contributed this season. The 2019 recruiting class was ranked No. 17 nationally by Top Drawer Soccer.

SCOUTING PORTLAND
The Pilots are 2-1-1 so far in 2019 and are coming off a 2-1 win against Denver last weekend. Portland also has a 0-0 tie against Washington, a 1-0 win over New Mexico and a 4-0 loss to North Carolina.
DUCKS SOLVE PORTLAND JINX
For the first time in the modern era, the Ducks defeated Portland 2-1 last season at Portland. Chardonnay Curran scored the game-winning goal in the 79th minute. Oregon had been 0-16 against the Pilots since the program was restored to the varsity level in 1996. Oregon did defeat Portland twice during the 1980 season.

THE SPREAD OFFENSE
Through six games, 13 different Ducks have recorded at least one point (a goal or an assist). Six different Oregon players have scored, while nine Ducks already have an assist this season.

Oregon had four different players score a goal in back-to-back games recently. Aug. 30 against Portland State (4-2), Jordan Worndahl, Mia Palmer, Maya Hahn (GWG) and Zoe Hasneauer all found the net. Sept. 1 against Villanova, Ally Cook (GWG), Wormdahl, Hahn and Maggie Lacey were the goal scorers.
FOUR SQUARE
In beating Portland State, 4-2, and Villanova, 4-0, the Ducks recorded back-to-back games with 4-plus goals for the first time in 19 years. Oregon last accomplished that feat during the 2000 season, topping San Jose State, 5-3, and Idaho, 4-1.
WORMDAHL JOINS CLUB OF THREE
Sophomore forward Jordan Wormdahl scored a goal in each of the Ducks' first four games (and now has six on the season). She became just the third player in program history to score a goal in four straight matches. The other two are all-Pac-10 first team selection Jen Stoltenberg, who scored in five straight contests during the 2010 season, and UO Hall of Famer Michele Potestio, who scored in four straight in 1980.
HASENAUSER HELPERS
Sophomore midfielder Zoe Hasneauer led the team in assists in 2018 (five) and picked up where she left off with four so far in 2019. The Simi Valley, Calif., native jumped to 10th on the UO career assists list with nine. Hasenauer also netted her first goal as a Duck, finishing her own deflected shot against Portland State. She attempted 10 shots versus the Vikings, one shy of the school record of 11 set by Beth Bowler in a 2001 game versus the Vikings. She followed that by scoring the game-winner at Furman in the 86th minute.
TOP 15 RANKING
Jordan Wormdahl and Zoe Hasenauer rank in the top 15 nationally in total goals scored and total assists, respectively. Wormdahl is 13th in the NCAA (third in the Pac-12) with six total goals. Hasenauer is 15th nationally with four assists (third in the Pac-12).
IRON ALYSSA
Senior Alyssa Hinojosa has played in 2,446 consecutive minutes dating back to the second-to-last game of the 2017 season. That streak includes every minute of 2019 (580) and 2018 (1764). In the last three years, the defender from Sylmar, Calif., has missed a grand total of 32 minutes of game action.
HAHN HEATS UP
Maya Hahn became the eighth player in program history to score a goal in three consecutive games when she did that against Portland State, Villanova and Clemson. That list includes current teammates Jordan Wormdahl and Emma Eddy.
CARTER CLEAN SHEET
Backed by a stellar effort from the back line in front of her, senior goalkeeper Katelyn Carter earned her first shutout since her freshman season by making four saves Sept. 1 versus Villanova.
SEVEN DUCKS EARN FIRST STARTING NOD
Seven different Ducks have earned their career first start so far in 2019. During the opening weekend of play, freshmen Ally Cook, Croix Soto and Sakura Yoshida, sophomore Chai Cortez and junior True Dydasco all started for the first time against Fresno State. Jordan Wormdahl earned her first start against Santa Clara. Freshman Caitlin Shaw started for the first time at Clemson.
