Game Notes: Ducks Head into Pac-12 Play Unbeaten in Their Last Six

Oregon brings a six-match unbeaten streak into its 2019 Pac-12 opener Friday at Washington (7 p.m. Pac-12 Networks).
WHAT TO WATCH
• Oregon's 19 goals through eight games is a program record for the modern era. The previous record was 18 goals through the first eight games by the 2007 team.
• Of Oregon's 19 goals, nine have been scored by sophomores and seven have been scored by freshmen.
• Eight different Ducks have scored so far in 2019. That's two more than the number of Ducks who scored goals all of last season.
• Head coach Kat Mertz earned her 100th career coaching victory Sept. 22 against Buffalo (2-1).
• Sophomore Jordan Wormdahl has six goals already this season. Earlier this year, she became just the third player in program history score a goal in four consecutive matches.
• Sakura Yoshida took over the team lead assists in last week's win over Buffalo. She now has five on the season, one better than last year's assists leader Zoe Hasenauer, who has four.
• Half of Oregon's 2019 matches have gone to overtime this season (1-0-3).
SCOUTING WASHINGTON
The Huskies come into Pac-12 play with a 4-2-2 record. Both teams tied Portland - the only common opponent between the two squads. Washington played the Pilots to a 0-0 tie, while the Ducks and Portland tied 2-2.
SCOREGON
The Ducks' 19 goals in the first eight games to open the season is a modern era record. That total through eight games is one better than the 2007 squad produced in its first eight games (18).
YOUTH OF DUCK NATION
Of Oregon's 19 goals so far in 2019, 16 have been scored by freshmen or sophomores. The breakdown:
Senior Class - 1 goal (Eddy)
Junior Class - 2 goals (Hardy, Palmer)
Sophomore Class - 9 goals (Wormdahl 6, Hasenauer 3)
Freshman Class - 7 goals (Cook 3, Hahn 3, Lacey)
THE SPREAD OFFENSE
Through eight games, 15 different Ducks have recorded at least one point (a goal or an assist). Eight different Oregon players have scored, while 11 Ducks already have an assist this season.
UNBEATEN STREAK
Oregon's current six-game unbeaten streak is tied for the seventh longest in program history. The Ducks also has a six-game unbeaten streak last season.
TIE THE TIGERS
Oregon's 1-1 tie at then-No. 19 Clemson on Sept. 6 is one of the better non-conference results in the NCAA this season. The tie remains the Tigers' lone blemish against seven wins. Clemson is No. 2 in this week's RPI report.
EDDY FIND THE NET IN OT
Emma Eddy, who was second on the squad in goals a year ago with six, found the net for the first time in 2019 Sept. 22 against Buffalo. Her golden goal in the 98th minute lifted Oregon to a 2-1 win.
SAKI SETTING THEM UP
Freshman forward Sakura "Saki" Yoshida has recorded an assist in three straight games, and leads the team with five on the season. She assisted both Jordan Wormdahl and Ally Cook against Furman (Sept. 8), Cook's score against Portland (Sept. 13) and Zoe Hasenauer's goal against Buffalo (Sept. 22).
WHAT'S COOKING?
Freshman forward Ally Cook recently scored in three of four games - Villanova (Sept. 1), Furman (Sept. 8) and Portland (Sept. 13) - and had a 90th minute strike bounce off the post at No. 19 Clemson (Sept. 6) in between the Villanova and Furman matches. Cook scored the game-winning goal against Villanova.
HARDY OFFICIALLY FINDS THE NET
After scoring three game-winning goals during the 2019 spring season, as well as netting the game-winner in the 82nd minute of Oregon's exhibition against British Columbia on Aug. 17, junior forward Eden Hardy finally scored her first official goal as a Duck Sept. 13 against Portland.
