
Ducks Wrap Up Season at OSU

Oregon travels to Corvallis to finish the 2023 season with the annual rivalry game against Oregon State (7 p.m., Pac-12 Network).
ON THE PITCH
• Over the last 20 years, the Oregon-OSU series is deadlocked at 8-8-5 (the teams played twice during the 2020 Covid season). The last two meetings both ended in a 2-2 draw. Alice Barbieri scored the game-tying goal for the Ducks in the 82nd minute of last year's game.
• Oregon has played the second-most difficult schedule in the nation, trailing only Princeton, according to this week's NCAA RPI report. Oregon played the 11th-toughest schedule in the nation in 2022.
• Maddy Goldberg tied the school single-game record by making 15 saves Oct. 22 at No. 5 Stanford. She nearly doubled her previous career high of eight, set earlier this season at Missouri State. She is second in the Pac-12 with 84 saves.
• The Ducks are one of the youngest teams in the nation. Oregon's 29-player roster features 15 freshmen (10 true freshman, 5 RS-freshmen), 9 sophomores, 4 juniors, no seniors and 1 fifth-year player.
• Among major conference schools, Oregon's 15 freshmen trails only Pittsburgh for the most on its 2023 roster. The Panthers have 16 freshmen, one ahead of the Ducks. Among all conferences, Jacksonville has 21 freshmen while Hampton has 18.
• Oregon's freshmen have accounted for 62.5 percent of the team's shots (90-of-144) and have made nearly half of the team's starts (91-of-198; 46.0 percent).

• Alice Barbieri had the first two-assist game of her career Saturday against Washington State. She set up both of Oregon's goals on corner kicks.
• Half of the Ducks' starting back line from a year ago is now playing professionally in the NWSL. Croix Soto is playing with the Kansas City Current, while Chai Cortez is with the San Diego Wave.
RESPASS, REYNOLDS, BARBIERI LEAD COMEBACK VS. WSU
After falling behind 2-1 at halftime, Oregon rallied with the only goal of the second half to tie Washington State 2-2 Oct. 29 at Papé Field Freshman Ryann Reynolds scored first for the Ducks, giving Oregon a 1-0 lead in the fourth minute. The Cougars scored the next two goals of the match, before Ajanae Respass drew the Ducks level shortly after halftime. Both of Oregon's goals came off corner kicks by Alice Barbieri, who had the first two-assist game of her career. Kristen Conti and Trinity Morales also has assists versus the Cougars. Maddy Goldberg made all five of her saves after Respass' goal to prevent WSU from regaining the lead.
GOLDBERG TIES SAVES RECORD
Sophomore Maddy Goldberg tied the Oregon single-game record with 15 saves Oct. 22 at No. 5 Stanford. She made seven saves in the first half and eight in the second to surpass her previous single-game high of eight, set earlier this season against Missouri State. It was the most saves by a Duck goalkeeper in 20 years. Goldberg tied the record held by Sarah Peters (Washington, 2001) and Domenique Lainez (Texas A&M, 2003).
GOLDBERG SECOND IN THE CONFERENCE IN SAVES
Maddy Goldberg is second in the Pac-12 in saves (84) and leads the league in saves per game (6.00). She is 14th nationally in saves per game. She made eight saves to earn her first career shutout as Oregon and Missouri State played to a 0-0 tie Aug. 27 in Springfield, Mo.

Sunday versus WSU, Maddy Goldberg tied Katelyn Carter (2016-19) for ninth in UO career saves with 97. With 84 saves on the season, Goldberg has also moved within five saves of entering the UO single-season top 10 list in saves (89, Amanda Fox, 1999). Goldberg has made at least five saves in all but two games she has played this season. After appearing in three games in 2021, Goldberg redshirted the 2022 season behind Pac-12 Goalkeeper of the Year Leah Freeman.
