Soccer Opens Big Ten Play at No. 4 UCLA
09/10/25 | Women's Soccer
Oregon opens Big Ten Conference play with a trip to Los Angeles to face No. 4 UCLA Saturday at 6 p.m. (B1G+). In last season's meeting, the Ducks held a 1-0 lead on the Bruins into the 80th minute before a foul called on Oregon at the far corner of the penalty area changed the trajectory of the match and UCLA eventually won, 2-1.
ON THE PITCH
• Seven different players have scored for Oregon through seven games this season. Only Taylor Bryan, who had a brace in the season opener against Weber State, has scored more than once this season.
• Four of those seven players scored their first career NCAA goals - freshmen Miya Alamares (Weber State) and Addisen Boyer (Seattle) and fifth-year players Sydney Chura and Cailin Bloom, both at Hawai'i (Chura scored 74 goals at the NAIA level).
• Carly Cormack also found the net against Hawai'i, scoring a goal on the same field where she won the 2024 high school state title.
• The Ducks have outshot the opposition in six-of-seven games this season, including each of the last five games.
• The Ducks fired off 30 shots Aug. 31 against Grand Canyon, the most for Oregon in six years and tied for the fourth-highest single-game total in program history. Several Ducks set or tied career highs in shots in that game, including Lauren Kenny (6), Cloe Chase (5), Carly Cormack (5) and Ella Osmussen (3).
• Tracy Joyner now has a 129-81-28 career record. Prior to Oregon, she built winning programs at a junior college (42-15-7 at Santa Rosa JC), at an NCAA Division II school (36-25-12 at San Francisco State) and at the DI level (49-37-8 at UC Davis).
• Oregon welcomed 23 newcomers to the team for the fall - 9 freshmen and 14 transfers (6 from UC Davis).
• Oregon has two alums playing professionally in the NWSL: Chardonnay Curran (Chicago Red Stars) and Leah Freeman (Bay FC).
