Bio
PERSONAL
Born Michael David DeLaGrange on June 9, 1981 in Grants Pass, Ore. Parents: David and Diana DeLaGrange. Family: One brother, one sister. High School (Coach): Grants Pass (Tom Blanchard) ‘00. Major: Sociology. Redshirt: 2000.
HIGH SCHOOL
Ranked as top offensive lineman and one of best overall prospects in the state by SuperPrep after voted second-team all-state (Oregonian) as a senior. Emerging during final season under tutelage of a former Oregon quarterback, the Northwest Nuggets (Tacoma News Tribune) honorable mention pick played role in the Cavemen (8-4) advancing to state quarterfinals for first time in 16 years.
OREGON
Once again injuries served as a deterrent to his improvement during spring drills. After steadily improving in 2001, saw extended action the following season before an ankle strain hampered his progress the second half of the season. Still went on to start eight games and showed signs of what he is capable of once completely healthy. Has evolved into force to be reckoned with as a run blocker but needs to improve pass-blocking skills. In a system which stresses flexibility and quickness, must work to utilize his size as an ally. Was not able to participate in any offseason workouts or drills since the Sun Bowl and must recover from injury to be a factor in fall camp.
2004 • SENIOR
Played in 10 games and started six for an offense that averaged nearly 400 yards per ga,e (397.0). The Ducks averaged 158.7 yards rushing and 238.3 yard passing per game. Started on the line for Oregon's 209-yard rushing effort against Washington State.
2003 • JUNIOR
Only injuries could slow the team’s largest specimen as he played in 10 of 13 games, but was at full strength in few of them. Enjoyed some his better performances in three of his last six starting assignments, including the offensive line’s top standout in the win over Stanford, yet came off the bench for his best effort at Arizona State. His presence was crucial down the stretch as he regained his health to take part in each of Oregon’s final four games. Included were starts vs. Oregon State in the regular season finale and vs. Minnesota in the Sun Bowl as the Ducks ran for a season-high 218 yards vs. the Beavers. Took part in a season-high 79 snaps in the season-opener at Mississippi State and added 77 plays against the Beavers.
2002 • SOPHOMORE
Emerged as a consistent presence on Oregon’s offensive line, starting seven games at right tackle and one game at left tackle after limited appearances the previous year. Had his best games against Mississippi State, Idaho, UCLA, USC and Washington. Made way for Oregon’s fifth 1,000-yard rusher in the last four years as the Ducks ranked second in the conference in rushing and fourth in sacks allowed with 26.
2001 • FRESHMAN
Made brief appearances in four games, but none were more encouraging than 10 plays vs. Colorado. Included was presence on
one touchdown drive in bowl win against the Buffaloes. Sharpened his skills by earning offensive scout team kudos for aid in helping Ducks prepare for Utah and Arizona.
2000 • REDSHIRT
Rewarded for work on the scout team, earning unit’s player-of-the week honors for preparations against USC and Washington State.
