SAN FRANCISCO — Chardonnay Curran headed in the tying goal in the 69^th minute as Oregon and San Francisco played to a 2-2 draw Sunday at Negoesco Stadium.

How It Happened: The Ducks (1-0-1) scored in the fifth minute when Caitlin Shaw headed in a long direct kick from freshman Alice Barbieri. It was the first career goal for Shaw, a junior from Vancouver, B.C.

The Dons (0-0-1) leveled the match when Kenna Roth converted a penalty kick in the 15^th minute. USF then took a 2-1 lead on a goal by Roth in the 55^th minute.

Oregon regained the momentum with Ally Cook pressuring the USF defense into a turnover in the right corner. Zoe Hasenauer collected the loose ball on the right wing and crossed it to Curran at the far post for the equalizer.

The Ducks missed an opportunity to score midway through the first half when they attempted four consecutive corner kicks in less than two minutes. On the fourth try, both Cook and Curran hit shots that were headed for the net only to have USF defenders make back-to-back saves.

Oregon had 10 corner kicks to the Dons' four. It was the most corners for the Ducks since trying 10 against Arizona State in 2018.

Who Stood Out: Oregon's midfield played a big role in both of Oregon's goals, with starters Shaw and Curran scoring and Hasenauer coming off the bench to assist on Curran's goal. Curran also drew the foul that led to Shaw's score.

What It Means: Oregon has scored seven goals through its first two matches of the season, more than halfway to last year's total of 12.

Notable: Freshman Maddy Goldberg made three saves in 89 minutes in relief of starting goalkeeper Leah Freeman, who was shaken up in a collision in front of the net and had to come off … Oregon outshot USF 26-15. Cook led the way with seven attempts while Curran and Eden Hardy both had four … Hasenauer's assist was the 13^th of her career, moving her past Allison Newton (2005-08) and Danielle Sweeney (2006-09) into sole possession of fourth on the UO career list … With two shots, Hasenauer passed Sierra Marsh (1996-99) for seventh on the UO career shots list with 123 … Barbieri's assist was the first of her career; two of her three shots were on goal … It was the first goal of the season and fourth career score for Curran.
