Rising national star in the horizontal jumps. Back-to-back Pac-10 champion in both the long jump and triple jump. Followed up remarkable 2009 season with another stellar performance in 2010. In 2009, posted one of the best jumping seasons in school history as she won All-America honors in the long jump both indoors and outdoors, set the school record in the long jump (indoors and outdoors) and the triple jump, and on top of that, was a member of two record-setting relay teams. Scored 23 points towards Oregon’s first Pac-10 championship since 1992. Followed that in 2010 with another pair of Pac-10 horizontal jumps titles, broke her own records in the long jump and triple jump was again an outdoor long jump All-American. Also a national champion in the indoor 4x400 meter relay. Was a Pan-American Junior, USA Junior, Junior Olympic and Nike Indoor National champion in the long jump during her prep career. As a senior, ranked top-five nationally among preps in the 300 meter hurdles (second, 41.08), 400 meter hurdles (fifth, 58.66), long jump (first, 21-0) and triple jump (second, 42-2.75-indoors).
2010-11: All-American (long jump) Outdoors - Matched the best NCAA finish of her career by taking third at the Outdoor Championships with a season-best leap of 21-7.5/6.59m (w+2.2). That was also her best leap at the NCAA meet. Best mark came on second attempt. After safely advancing to the NCAA Championships in the long jump with a leap of 20-9.25/6.33m at the NCAA West Preliminary meet (third), was called into duty on the 4x100 meter relay team. Anchored that team to the NCAA Championships in 44.68, which was the seventh-fastest time in school history. Important scorer at the Pac-10 Championships to help Oregon's comeback win. Was the runner-up in the long jump in a season-best 21-3.25/6.48m. Came back the next day for a third-place finish in the triple jump in a season-best 42-3.25/12.89m. At the Oregon Relays, ran a personal-best 11.91 in the 100 meters to win her heat. Came back to post a season best in the triple jump (40-10.25/12.45m) at the Oregon Relays. Took the national lead in the long jump at the 21-2/6.45m in a fourth-place finish (behind three pros) at the Mt. SAC Relays. Also helped Oregon run the third-fastest 4x100 meter relay in school history (44.09). Won the long jump at the Pepsi Team Invitational in 20-2.5/6.16m. Also triple jumped at the Pepsi (39-4/11.99m). Went 1:03.57 in the 400 meter hurdles at the Stanford Invitational, her first 400 hurdles in more than a year. Following the college season, took 14th at the USA Championships in the long jump with a mark of 20-3/6.17m (w+2.4). Indoors - Used her final jump to finish third in the long jump at the NCAA Championships. Mark was 20-11.75/6.39m as Oregon won its second straight indoor national title. A dramatic NCAA qualifer in the long jump. Leapt 21-2.5/6.46m on her last attempt at the UW Final Qualifier to make the national meet. Jump was third-best in the nation. Ran lead leg on 4x400 meter relay team that had the fourth-fastest time in school history (3:36.77) at the Tyson Invitational. Also went 20-6.5/6.26m in the long jump at the Tyson meet. 2009-10: Outdoors - Ranked third nationally in the long jump and fifth nationally in the triple jump. Was a three-time winner at the Pac-10 Championships as she became just the second woman to win back-to-back long jump and triple jump titles. Opened the league meet by winning the long jump with a school record leap of 21-9/6.63m. Followed that by winning the triple jump in a personal best 43-7.75/13.30m. That mark was wind-aided, but her first attempt of 43-5/13.23m was wind legal and goes in the books as the school record. Final win of the championships came in the 4x100 meter relay, where she anchored the Ducks to a school record time of 43.27. Two weeks later at the NCAA West Regional, advanced to the NCAA Championships with a fourth-place showing in the long jump (21-3.15) and a 12th-place finish in the triple jump (42-6.25), where she passed her final three attempts with a spot at the national meet secured. Also helped the Ducks' 4x100 meter relay team advance by anchoring the squad that won its heat in 43.50. At the NCAA Championships, earned the fourth and fifth All-America awards of her career. Helped the Ducks take third in the 4x100 relay in 43.74 as the anchor leg and then placed fourth in the long jump with a best of 21-3.25. Also helped Oregon's national championship 4x400 meter relay team advance with a win in the semfinal heat in 3:33.51. Opened season at the Oregon Preview by setting the meet record in the 400 meter hurdles in 59.95. That was the eighth-best time in school history. Also ran the anchor leg of the 4x100 meter relay team that set a meet record in 44.30. Did that one better at the Pepsi Team Invitational as she anchored the team that broke the school record in 44.13. Also won the long jump (20-6.5/6.25m) and was fourth in the triple jump (40-7/12.37m) to help Oregon win the Pepsi meet. At the Penn Relays, anchored Oregon's record-setting 4x400 meter relay team, (3:32.34) and sixth-place 4x100 relay team (44.42). Also anchored the winning 4x100 relay team that set the Oregon Twilight meet record in 44.24. Indoors - NCAA champion (4x400 meter relay). Set the indoor school record at the Feb. 12 at the Tyson Invitational when she leapt 21-6.25. That mark was an NCAA automatic qualifier and third-best in the country. Ran the lead leg for the 4x400 meter relay team that went 3:33.31 at the Tyson meet. That performance served as a predecessor to the NCAA Championships, where she ran the lead leg of Oregon's winning 4x400 meter relay team that set a school record in 3:32.97. It was Oregon's first ever relay win at the NCAA meet. Was also an NCAA competitor in the long jump, but fouled her three attempts. In February at the the Texas A&M Challenge, went 20-2.5 in the long jump. Helped Oregon win its first MPSF title at the end of the month with a sixth place finish in the long jump (19-9.75) and a personal best 24.56 in the 200 meters that took eighth. 2008-09: Performed the rare feat of winning both the long jump and triple jump at the Pac-10 Championships. Went on to claim a piece of five school records and garner a pair of All-America awards in the long jump (indoor, outdoor). Opened year with impressive performances in the long jump, triple jump and 60 meters indoors. Broke the school record in the indoor long jump with a mark of 20-9.25 at the UW Indoor Invitational. Improved on that effort with a leap of 21-1.25 at the NCAA Championships, a mark that placed fifth and earned the first All-America honors of her career. Also indoors, recorded the No. 2 triple jump in school history with a leap of 40-6.25 at the UW Indoor Preview, and clocked the No. 3 60 meter time at Oregon, 7.63, at the UW Indoor Invitational. Additionally, ran the lead leg of the 4x400 meter relay team that ran to a school record 3:36.52 in winning the MPSF Championships and advanced to the NCAA Indoor Championships (9th, 3:37.08). Outdoors, took second in both the long jump (19-3.5) and the triple jump (40-6.75) at the Stanford Invitational, before winning the long jump at the Pepsi Team Invitational (20-8) and Oregon Twilight (20-10). That set the stage for her remarkable performances at the Pac-10 meet, where she set school records in winning both jumps. Went 21-1.25 to take the long jump, and break Julie Goodrich’s 1988 records of 21-0.5, and then 43-2.25 to win the triple jump and break Sara Jessie’s 1995 record of 42-6. Joined Stanford’s Erica McLain as the only women in conference history to sweep the long jump and triple jump. Combined with her efforts on the third-place relay teams, scored 23 points toward Oregon’s first Pac-10 title in 17 years. At the NCAA West Regional, qualified for her first NCAA Outdoor Championmships in both jumps. Went 21-0 in the long jump and 42-8 (w+2.3) in the triple jump at the Regional. Terrific performance at the NCAA Championships in the long jump, where she broke her own record twice in a third place finish. Jumped 21-5.25 in the preliminaries, and then 21-5.5 in the finals to score six team points towards Oregon’s best finish - second - in a quarter century. Also ran the anchor leg on Oregon’s record-setting 4x100 meter relay team. First set the school mark at the Stanford Invitational (44.64). Lowered that to 44.61 at the Mt. SAC Relays before recording the current standard, 44.17, in the preliminaries of the NCAA West Regional. Ran the anchor leg on the 4x100 squad that finished third at the Pac-10 Championships (44.80) and the third leg of the 4x400 team that was also third at the Pac-10 meet (3:37.10, No. 7 all-time). Additionally, ran the anchor on the 4x400 meter relay team that set the Oregon Relays meet record (3:39.23). Named the team’s Lynne Winbigler Performer of the Year. 2007-08: Pac-10 scorer in the triple jump and 4x400 meter relay. Recorded marks that ranked among the school all-time top three in the triple jump, long jump and indoor long jump. Early start to the season began indoors at the Arkansas Last Chance meet, where she lept all the way to second on the school’s career list with an effort of 20-4.25. Kept rolling into the outdoor season, where she hit No. 2 on the school’s triple jump list with a leap of 41-11.25 at the Oregon Preview. Also went over 41 feet in finishing third at the Pac-10 Championships (41-5) and fourth at the U.S. Junior Championships (41-8.5). Got into the record books in the long jump in June at the U.S. Junior Championships with a leap of 20-9.75 to finish second. That second-place finish qualified her for the World Championships. In addition to her proficiency in the jumps, ranked third on the team in the 400 meter hurdles with a season-best mark of 1:00.94 from the Mt. SAC Relays. Ran personal best 24.96 in the 200 meters at the Oregon Relays. Ran on Oregon’s third-place 4x400 meters relay team at the Pac-10 Championships that clocked the sixth-fastest time in school history (3:37.43). Prep: Won the 2007 Pan-American Junior title in the long jump (21-0) less than a month after she won the USA Junior Championships long jump, and took fourth in the 400 meter hurdles (58.66). Added win during the summer in the Junior Olympics long jump and ran on third-place relays in the 4x100 meters and 4x400 meters. Earlier in the season, won the Golden West Invitational 300 meter hurdles and long jump and the Nike Indoor Nationals long jump and triple jump, where she set a PR with an effort of 42-2.75. As a junior, won national titles in the 2006 USATF Junior Olympic Championships long jump and triple jump and AAU Junior Olympics triple jump and 400 meter hurdles. As a senior in the California state championships, she won the 300 meter hurdles and the long jump and was third in the triple jump. As a junior, she was second in the 300 meter hurdles and third in the triple jump. She also finished sixth in the 4x100 meter relay as a senior and in the 100 meter hurdles as a junior. Also competed in the state meet as a sophomore in the 300 meter hurdles (third) and triple jump (sixth) and as a freshman in the triple jump and 100 meter hurdles.
Personal: Major is family and human services. Her cousin Julius Thomas plays basketball at Portland State.
