Returns for her final indoor and outdoor track and field seasons as one of the nation's top 5,000 and 10,000 threats. Ranks eighth all-time for Ducks in 5,000 (16:04.40), not far from seventh (Lucy Nusrala, 16:01.69, 1991) and 11 seconds from sixth (Melody Fairchild, 15:53.56, 1996). To join UO all-time lists in the 3,000 and 10,000, she needs times of 9:17.81 and 34:42.41, respectively. Made last collegiate cross country appearance in 2003, and led team in all five races, and was a top-10 Pac-10 and West Regional placer (fifth/ninth). Was on pace for All-America harrier honors before a fall early in the 2003 NCAA cross country race, and was equally snakebit in 2004 NCAA indoor 5K track finale when she ran in seventh place until the final laps when a leg injury forced her to drop back. In 2005, leads Duck returnees in 3,000 (9:33.56-i), 5,000 (16:04.40-i) and 10,000 (36:30.65).
Fall 2004: Had already exhausted her collegiate cross country eligibility. Competed unattached in USATF Fall Club Cross Country Championships in early December and placed fifth (6K-24:02) after leading early stages of race held at Columbia Meadows Race Track in northeast Portland.
2003-04: NCAA Qualifier (5,000 indoors / XC). Did not compete outdoors due to an injury suffered in March's NCAA 5,000 finale. Gave a valiant effort in her NCAA track debut in 25-lap race in Fayetteville, Ark., and ran the first 3/4 of the race in seventh place before a calf injury forced her to drop back (17th, 16:29.69) after limited training the month before. Entered the collegiate finale seeded sixth with an NCAA automatic time (16:04.40) from a month before in Seattle. Her 40-second personal best was among six collegians who met the NCAA automatic mark (16:15.00) that race, and a clocking that also moved her to eighth all-time for the Ducks. However, she suffered a slight hamstring the following week, and had to alter her training to various degrees before the collegiate finale. Opened indoor season with a 12-second 3,000 personal best (9:33.56) in mid-January - a time that ranked her 41st among collegians at indoor season's end and was just under the 9:35.00 provisional qualifying standard. Enjoyed breakthrough fall cross country season and was a legitimate All-America threat in NCAA finale, before she fell in the opening quarter-mile crossing a small ditch and hit head on ground. Still had perseverance and strength to move from last in the 255-runner field to take 105th at finish line (21:18). Earlier in championship slate, took fifth in Pac-10 Champs for first-team all-league honors and 31 places better than previous Pac-10 best. Followed with ninth place in West Regional, 21 places better than 2002. Led Ducks in her other two races ? Pre-NCAA Invite open race (20:40, and 20th fastest time that day among 537 runners) and Willamette Invite (second overall/top collegian, 16:50) and Sundodger Invite (second overall/top collegian, 16:54). Pac-10 All-Academic honorable mention in track and cross country. Personal/Seasonal Bests: Indoors - 3,000 - 9:33.56 (PR), Husky Preview, Seattle (1/17/04). 5,000 - 16:04.40 (indoors), Pac-10 Invitational, Seattle (2/14/04).
2002-03: Pac-10 & Regional Qualifier (5,000). Capped year with the second track 5K of her career in the West Regional (11th, 16:45.91) after entering meet seeded 15th with her 5K debut from the Stanford Invite (16th, PR 16:43.94). Made 10K debut in hot Pac-10 finale in LA (10th, 36:30.65). Also lowered 1,500 best in Oregon Twilight (eighth, 4:40.82) and in 3,000 indoors in the Washington Invite in February (9:45.88). Overall in her first healthy outdoor season, she competed in five races (1,500-2; 3,000-1; 5,000-1; 10,000-1). Pac-10 Track & Field All-Academic honorable mention. In cross country, ran in Ducks’ top four in all four of her varsity races. In midseason, fought through a slight hamstring injury to help Ducks finish fifth in NCAA Western Regional and was one of four, top-30 finishers for Oregon (30th, 22:30) ? 48 places better than her debut the year before. Finished second on squad in Roy Griak Invite (36th, 22:02), third on team in Pac-10 Championships (36th, 22:13) and fourth in Pre-Nationals (122nd, 22:14). Personal/Seasonal Bests: Outdoors - 1,500 - 4:40.82 (PR), Oregon Twilight, Eugene (5/3/03). 5,000 - 16:43.94 (PR), Stanford Invitational, Stanford, Calif. (3/28/03). 10,000 - 36:30.65 (PR), Pac-10 Championships, Los Angeles (5/17/03). Indoors - 3,000 - 9:45.88 (then-PR), Washington Invitational, Seattle (2/15/03).
2001-02: Outdoors, raced only twice as she regained strength after winter season stress fracture. Took eighth in 1,500 in Oregon Twilight (4:49.56), and ran first half of 10K in Oregon Invite at end of April. In cross country, twice ran in team’s second and third spots, and once in its fourth spot. Made debuts in Pac-10 (37th, 23:07) and Western Regional Championships (78th, 24:04), and also scored in Roy Griak (162, 23:04) and Furman (133, 23:30) and Sundodger Invites (35th, 18:28). After summer bout with mononucleosis, resumed training in August. Personal/Seasonal Bests: 1,500 - 4:49.56 (then-PR), Oregon Twilight, Eugene (5/11/02). Indoors, ranked fifth on squad in mile (5:10.71) and third in 3,000 (10:14.96) with season bests from meets in Houston and Fayetteville. In cross country, was a frequent scorer for the Owls in the fall of 2000. Ranked second on squad in WAC Champs (22nd, 5K-19:17), third in Rice Invite (eighth overall, 2.1-miles-12:36), UTSA Invite (sixth overall) and South Central Regional (56th), and fourth in the Paul Short Invite (75th, 6K-22:55). Prep: Swept state 1,600 and 3,200 titles as a junior and senior after placing as a sophomore (third/sixth), freshman (sixth/second) and eighth grader (fifth/fifth). Ran prep 1,600 and 3,200 prep bests of 5:13 and 11:42 in the Academy Invite in Albuquerque (5,120 feet). In cross country, was a state champion as a junior, and four-time runner-up starting with her eighth grade debut. Helped lead Los Alamos to state team titles as eighth grader, freshman and sophomore seasons, while the squad was runner-up as a junior and senior. Competed in Footlocker West Regional as a sophomore, junior and senior, with best finish as a senior (24th, 19:26). Competed on varsity swim team in 8th-10th grades (200/400/1,650 free, 200/400 IM).
