Enters 2005 season tied for eighth all-time for Ducks in high jump (5-8) thanks to her 3/4-inch personal best in 2004 - and is 1/4 inch shy of ?88 Olympian Trish King (seventh, 5-8 1/4, 1981). Returns tied for fifth in Pac-10 and 13th in region among returnees, based on 2004 high jump season bests. Moonlighted as a javelin thrower the past two seasons, and could again in ?05, although the Ducks return three All-Americans in the event. Has competed indoors four seasons for Ducks already, and owns only outdoor eligibility in 2005 after she redshirted the 2003 season.
2003-2004: Pac-10 Scorer (High Jump). The three-time Pac-10 high jump vet scored for the second time (fifth-tie, 5-6) after she entered meet seeded in a five-way tie for fifth based on season bests. Also in the Tucson-hosted league finale, she made her league debut in the javelin (136-0) - one place higher than her pre-meet seeding. Ended campaign with her West Regional debut, but no-heighted. Overall, competed in six high jump competitions, and cleared 5-6 or better in four efforts, including a 3/4-inch personal best performance in the Pepsi Invite (first, 5-8). Also picked up a win in the season-opening Oregon Preview (first, 5-6) in Eugene. Appeared on the javelin runway in six competitions and threw 138 feet or better in three meets. Threw a season best in the Pepsi Invite (third, 139-6) in Eugene in April, and registered a win in May’s Oregon Twilight (first, 138-10) with her second-longest heave of the season. At end of year, ranked fifth in Pac-10 high jump (five-way tie), 16th in region (12-way tie) and 75th nationally (49-way tie) based on season bests. Also ranked 14th on Pac-10 season best list in the javelin. Personal/Seasonal Bests: Outdoor - High Jump - 1.73m (5-8 PR), Pepsi Team Invite, Eugene, 4/10/04. 2002-03: Redshirted outdoors, but still competed unattached. In first season with javelin, would have earned a Pac-10 invite in two stops ? Oregon Preview (first, 145-9) and Oregon Twilight (fourth, 145-3). High-jumped once outdoors in Oregon Preview (third, 5-3). Indoors, competed in high jump twice in Seattle in Husky Preview (6th-tie, 5-3) and UW Invite (10th, 5-2 1/2). Personal/Seasonal Bests: Indoors - High Jump - 1.60m (5-3), Husky Preview, Seattle, 1/18/03.
2001-02: Pac-10 Scorer (High Jump). Made second Pac-10 appearance and matched personal best (seventh, 5-7 1/4) after entering meet seeded in a four-way tie for 15th. Ranked second on squad in high jump and fourth in triple jump (35-2 1/2w) and fifth in the javelin based on her only season appearance (130-5). Competed in high jump in 10 outdoor meets, and cleared 5-4 or better in six contests, including the last three of the year. Cleared then-season best of 5-7 in Oregon Twilight (fifth) in meet prior to league finale. Competed in three indoor meets with clearances of 5-3 3/4 or better in each. Ranked third on unit at season’s end with season best from Husky Scoring Meet (second-tie, 5-5). Personal/Seasonal Bests: Outdoors - High Jump - 1.71m (5-7 1/4), Pac-10 Championships, Pullman, Wash., 5/18/02. Javelin - 39.75m (130-5), Oregon Twilight, Eugene, 5/11/02. 2000-01: Pac-10 Qualifier (High Jump). Took 11th in Pac-10 Championships debut (5-5) - and cleared 5-5 or better in six of seven appearances. Cleared season best of 5-7 - only a quarter inch off her personal best - in Steve Scott Invite. Claimed a pair of wins at home in Oregon Twilight (5-5) and Washington Dual (5-6). Indoors, tied for team lead with season best from Eugene Indoor (second, 5-4 1/4). Also cleared 5-3 3/4 indoors in Idaho Scoring meet (seventh). Personal/Seasonal Bests: Outdoors - High Jump - 1.70m (5-7), Steve Scott Invite, Irvine, Calif. (5/6/01). Indoors - 1.63m (5-4 1/4), Eugene Indoor, Eugene (1/20/01).
Prep: As a senior in the 2000 3A state championships, was one of meet's top scorers with high jump win (5-6) and points in triple jump (fourth, 34-10 3/4) and javelin (seventh, 125-6). At season's end, ranked first overall in state rankings with her high jump personal best (5-7 1/4). As a junior took third in state contest (5-7) and sixth in the triple jump (34-7w). High School: Toledo '00 (Corey Swim).
Personal: Sociology major. Younger sister of Adam Kriz, a former Duck Pac-10 Champion and All-American. Her younger sister Megan Kriz is a junior thrower for the Ducks and a Pac-10 and West Regional qualifier in the hammer in 2004.
