Will serve as team captain for first time this season, and is one of two seniors on squad. Owns longest current starting streak for Ducks with 36 matches after starting all 18 games both her sophomore and junior seasons.
2002: Claimed first goal and points of season to tie matters against then-No. 18 Washington at home at 27:42. Against Arizona at home, added assist on Sarah Denner score at 66:30 and the first of three goals to overcome a 2-0 deficit and lead to an eventual 3-2 victory. Scored lone goal at 64:51 at Oregon State to pull within 2-1 in eventual loss by same score. Posted season-best three shots against Washington State. Also had season-high in shots on goal against WSU and Oregon State (2). Pac-10 All-Academic honorable mention.
2001: Local product had a solid year for the Ducks? line of defense ... also had 10 shot attempts on the season, scoring her first career goal in a 5-2 win at San Jose State ... a starter in all 18 games, she also recorded her first career assist in the team?s 4-0 win at Washington State.
2000: Played in 13 games, recording two shots, one against Arizona and the other vs. Washington State.
High School: Four-year starter at Churchill High ... selected team captain her junior and senior seasons ... member of McKenzie United Soccer Academy ... Werdell earned a spot on the ODP team in 1997 and 1998 ... her club team also went on a European tour during her freshman year ... recipient of the Dean Scholarship at Churchill and the U.S. Army Reserve Scholar Athlete award ... also listed as Who?s Who among the nation?s high school students her junior and senior years.
