In first season with the hammer in 2004, instantly shined and led Ducks (185-0) with mark that ranks her third all-time for UO behind former NCAA qualifier Jordan Sauvage (first, 191-4) and Maureen Morrison (second, 186-6). Among collegiate returnees in 2005, ranks fifth in the Pac-10, 11th in the region and 32nd nationally based on 2004 season bests (not including teammate Brittany Hinchcliffe (200-3) who redshirted). Was less than 11 feet shy of U.S. top-40 season best list with final spot at 195-5. Sister of recent Pac-10 champion and hammer All-American Adam Kriz, and Pac-10 scorer and current Duck high jumper Rachael (Kriz) Wallace.
2003-2004: Pac-10/Regional Qualifier (Hammer). Led squad in hammer and was top Duck placer in the West Regional Championships (11th, 179-5), and stood second on team in Pac-10 Championships (14th, 146-3). Overall, threw 180 feet or better three times, and qualified regionally in four outings, and for the Pac-10 finale in five meets. Gained momentum for the post-season with an impressive mid-season home stretch, including the Pepsi Invite (first, 181-9), the Oregon Invitational (fourth, 184-1), and the Oregon Twilight (second, 185-0), in which her personal best was broken in three consecutive performances. Overall, ended season ranked 10th in Pac-10, 20th in region and 57th on NCAA regular season best lists. Indoors, competed twice in the weight throw, and threw a season best in the Pac-10 Invitational (20th, 44-7 1/2) in Seattle on Valentine’s Day.
Before Oregon: Competed for Portland State University as a freshman in 2002-03. Owned outdoor season best of 42-10 3/4 in shot put and ranked 15th in conference and was a conference championships qualifier.
Prep: Was a four-year letterwinner in track. As a senior in 2002, won 3A state discus title (124-10), and added fifth in the shot put as a senior (38-7) and in the 4x100 as a sophomore (51.47). Also competed in basketball, and was a four-time letterwinner at forward. Added three letters in volleyball at middle hitter and was first-team all-league pick. Team MVP in track and volleyball.
